The BARM-ST12 Scatter Blaster is an Shotgun in Fortnite: Battle Royale that was added in Galactic Battle.

Functionality[]

The BARM-ST12 Scatter Blaster is a low damage, fast firing Shotgun with a bit of range. The weapon has infinite ammo but will overheat after firing a few shots and will need to cool down. The cooldown period can be manually entered by pressing the reload key after shooting for a bit.

The BARM-ST12 Scatter Blaster can continuously fire for 4.14 seconds or 9 shots before it overheats. This can be extended by waiting a bit between each shot.

The BARM-ST12 Scatter Blaster is a hitscan weapon, firing a spread of 5 short ranged bolts when both aiming down sights and hipfiring. Aiming down sights tightens the spread of bolts.

  • Phasma's Blaster Medallion increases the amount of shots the BARM-ST12 Scatter Blaster can fire continuously and decreases its cooldown time.
  • The BARM-ST12 Scatter Blaster is best used in a similar manner to the Twinfire Auto Shotgun or Gatekeeper Shotgun, as it is most effective when very close to an opponent. Unlike the Twinfire Auto Shotgun however, the BARM-ST12 Scatter Blaster fires much less pellets per shot (5 compared to the Twinfire's 12), has a slightly slower fire rate, but a decently higher body and headshot damage.
  • The BARM-ST12 Scatter Blaster, in all rarities, is capable of eliminating an opponent with full shield in 2 headshots when playing Builds, and in Zero Build, is capable of doing so in all rarities above Common.

Counters[]

  • The slower fire rate and low pellet count of the BARM-ST12 Scatter Blaster can lead to it being somewhat inconsistent, so using a more consistent Shotgun such as the ACP Scatter Blaster or an SMG of sorts can be beneficial when engaging an opponent wielding it.
  • SMGs are especially effective against players using the BARM-ST12 Scatter Blaster, as it doesn't take many shots before it overheats, and has a somewhat slow cooldown time.
