- — In-Game Description
Balloons are a Utility Item in Fortnite: Battle Royale that was introduced in Season 6.
Functionality[]
Balloons work with up to three uses of them at a time. The player can deploy a balloon by pressing the fire button, which adds one to their back. This will reduce their gravity, and negate fall damage. Adding two balloons to a player reduces gravity even further. Adding a third balloon causes the player to be lifted upwards. Balloons only last a short amount of time, and so cannot be abused by floating to the top of the map. Pressing crouch releases a Balloon, and enemy players can shoot them to destroy them.

Strategy Guide[]
|
This section outlines a strategy. |
| Feel free to add tips, tricks and general advice about the topic. |
- If you are falling, you can quickly spam balloons to quickly lose speed and not take fall damage.
- Adding a single balloon to your player can increase the speed at which the player can traverse the map by using the low gravity to jump longer distances.
- Balloons can be used to take the high ground from unsuspecting players. This can be risky, however, as you're very vulnerable while doing so.
- Using Balloons in conjunction with an item that prevents fall damage, such as a Shockwave Grenade, can allow you to traverse the map incredibly quickly. In addition, if you're being shot at, you can unequip your Balloons without needing to worry about taking fall damage.
- Using Balloons up high with a scoped weapon like the Red-Eye Assault Rifle or an explosive weapon like the Ex-Caliber Rifle can allow you to rain down shots from an angle opponents probably won't be protected from.
