Bars are an in-game currency in Fortnite: Battle Royale. They were introduced in Chapter 2: Season 5.
Functionality[]
Bars can be used to purchase items or services from Characters or Vending Machines at differing prices. They can be used for:
- Purchasing items such as Weapons, Ammo, and Consumables.
- Hiring Characters as friendly AI.
- Modifying Weapon Mods at a Mod Bench.
- Activating a Rift.
- Activating a Prop Disguise.
- Locating the next Storm circle.
Any of these purchases will deduct Bars from your account.
A player can accumulate a maximum amount of 5,000 Bars over several matches. Accumulated Bars can carry across LTMs, however, they do not carry across Competitive Game Modes. They cannot be dropped from your Inventory.
Bars are reset at the end of each season.
Obtained[]
Bars can be obtained in multiple ways.
Bars are dropped as an item by:
- Eliminating opponents, both AI and players.
- Opening or destroying Chests, Rare Chests, Safes and Cash Registers.
- Throwing a Shield Breaker EMP, or activating the War Bus EMP near a Vending Machine.
- Destroying Beds, Couches, and Washing Machines (Not Guaranteed).
Bars are deposited straight into the player's inventory by:
- Completing a Bounty (All Methods).
- Completing quests given by Characters.
- Completing a SHADOW Briefing.
- Drinking a Nuka-Cola.
