Summary[]
After escaping The Loop, Batman encounters Deathstroke holding Catwoman hostage and demands that he drops his weapons. Batman complies but Catwoman then attacks Deathstroke and escapes his grasp. Batman reunites with Catwoman and they both attack Deathstroke before he suddenly surrenders. Deathstroke then explains that he has only protecting himself since people usually come out of The Loop hostile and explains the time limit to Batman. Suddenly, Batman begins to feel a great amount of pain in his head as he starts to remember all of the past cycles in The Loop that he experienced. Deathstroke suggests that they should work together but Batman refuses, stating he and Catwoman earned each others trust, fighting and dying countless times and never recalled encountering Deathstroke in The Loop. However, Deathstroke explains that he got lucky and escaped The Loop weeks ago and reveals that he wasn't the first to do so. All of a sudden, a group of former loopers show themselves and they all share the same goal: to work together to find a way home. Renegade Raider is the first to introduce herself, stating that she's been on the island for almost 4 years. Afterwards, Batman and Catwoman agree to join the group. Batman asks Raider how much she knows about the island since she's had the most experience and she states that the island is pretty much "The Whole World". She explains that she's tried to go out far enough on air and water but there's only nothing at the end. Others tried to escape by going into the void, thinking it would be the way out but instead meets their demise, which is not what Raider wants. She also states that there's been events on the island and mentions the event of The Device. Batman asks about the device and Raider explains that it came from a small island in a lake and just showed up one day. The device would cause a plume of pure energy and would result in a tower. Raider then shows Batman an artifact that seems to depict people being taken elsewhere by godlike figures. Batman believes that The Loopers are being taken from different locations. He then tells the group to rexplore the island to learn more about it. After some days passed, the group has found more artifacts and believes that the island was created with certain properties. Batman decides to check the hatches since they were never opened and has the group collect different energy traces from various locations on one hatch, which successfully opens it. As the group enters, they get ambushed by huge stone monsters. After defeating them, they find a weapons room which seems to have been present for multiple generations. The group then splits into four teams of two to take different passages. After forty minutes, Batman and Catowoman reach a dead end and return to the weapons room. Suddenly Batman hears rubble moving and examines it to find Fishstick in a critical state. Batman asks who attacked him and offers to aid him but he declines. He then hands Batman a device he found on the seabed which contains energy similar to the epicenter of The Storm and can also allow anyone to access The Loop while being immune to it's affects and keeping their memories intact. Batman also discovers that the technology in the device resembles the technology in the bunkers and questions why someone would go outside the hatch and discard the device. Fishstick then tells him that someone in the group lied about being in The Loop but then dies moments later. Batman realizes that someone in the group is working for ''them", ending the issue.
