— Description

Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point Issue 5 is a Comic introduced in Chapter 2: Season 7 of Fortnite: Battle Royale, as part of the Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point.

Summary[]

Deathstroke and the group of Loopers fight off against IO Guards in the bunker. Just then, Batman and Catwoman arrive to provide help. While Batman chooses to disarm the guards, Magnus kills one with his axe, which causes Batman to explain that they shouldn't kill anyone since it's murdering and that they can learn more from the living captives. Batman removes the mask from an unconscious guard and recognizes him as someone he fought during his time in The Loop, leaving him to believe that the Imagined Order are pulling skilled combatants out of The Loop to use as security. The group moves on and eventually finds an abandoned meeting room, containing ancient artifacts. Batman has already deciphered a lot of the writing, which mentions the place where all of reality sprang known as The Zero Point and a grand plan to bring order to everything. However, more henchmen begin to go after the group, causing them to evacuate. Later on, the group fights more guards again but are now trapped with groups of henchmen blocking each path. Deathstroke then gets the idea to ask Batman to use his liquid nitrogen capsules which confuses him at first but he agrees to it. Batman throws the capsules at a pillar near the guards while Deathstroke uses his fire staff to shoot at the capsules which causes debris to fall down and block off one group of guards. This allows to group to take on less guards without being outnumbered. The group continues to explore and eventually enter the bridge, containing the Zero Point inside a stone tower. Batman tells everyone to be careful but suddenly, Eternal Voyager gets desperate and tries to shatter the stone tower and try to go anywhere. This results in him being sliced to death and having his remains sent to different realities. Seeing this, the group realizes that The Zero Point has to be controlled to send people through universes. After many hours, the group activates a panel and aligns it with multiversal energy contained within one of them so it can open a pathway back to their homeworld. Batman attempts to go first but Renegade Raider intercepts, claiming that she's been on the island the longest. Using the panel, Bonehead aims it at the stone tower, causing it to shatter and expose the Zero Point. Raider then recognizes her home and while Catwoman warns her about what happened with Voyager, she senses that it feels different and jumps into the Zero Point, which succesfully returns her to her homeworld. Immediately after this, Batman shifts his attention to Deathstroke and accuses him of killing Fishstick, since he found the discarded device that lets people explore the island without memory loss which is only something "they" would have and didn't want him to show anyone while also pointing out that the burns on his body were consistent with his staff. Deathstroke tries claiming that it could have been the guards weapons but Batman also points out that he askes him for his liquid nitrogen capsules despite never showing them around home and believes that they are from the same homeworld. Deathstroke gets ready to attack but is grabbed Magnus, only to headbutt him. Bandolette decides to side with Deathstroke, claiming that he's got pull with the people in charge and fights Catwoman. Batman fights against Deathstroke but he decides to surrender. Catwoman ties up Deathstroke while Bandolette apologizes for trying to fight them and also returns to her home world. After this, Bonehead is the next one to return home, following Magnus shakes hands with Batman and goes back. With Batman, Catwoman, and Deathstroke remaining, Batman uses the staff to full power and get Deathstroke in position to use his omniversal energy. Suddenly, Deathstroke frees himself and reveals that he has a Portal Device which allows him to return without anyone. As he leaves, Catwoman pulls out the Portal Device from his hand, leaving Batman and Catwoman stuck on the bridge, ending the issue.
