Banners of the claiming squad. The squad that claims the POI will be rewarded with loot!
— Chapter 4 - Season 1 Blog Post

The Capture Point is a mechanic in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It was first introduced in Chapter 4: Season 1.

Functionality[]

Each Named Location will have a Capture Point. Players have to stay within a 2-tile radius of the Capture Point for the capture to begin. Once initiated, It will take 45 Seconds for the player to claim the Capture Point. The Banners of the tower will be raised, alarming players that the Capture Point is being captured. Once captured, loot will be rewarded to the player. Chests and Enemy Players within a 14 - 15 Tile Radius will be marked for 30 Seconds.

If players from opposing team are within the Capture Point, then the area will be contested. If an opposing team is within a capture point that has been left abandoned, any existing progress will be wiped and the capture point will be captured by the new team.

Capture Point Loot[]

The Capture Point will always drop 30 of each Material and 200 Bars.
