The Chains of Hades are an Uncategorized Item in Fortnite: Battle Royale that was added in Chapter 5: Season 2.

The Chains of Hades have a Mythic version called Blitz Chains of Hades.

Functionality[]

The Chains of Hades are a multi-functional tool used to attack opponents and also pull items towards you similar to the Harpoon Gun. It has an attack cycle of 3 with the first two attacks dealing 55 damage and the 3rd hit dealing 80 damage with additional knockback in a combined total of 190 damage.

The Chains of Hades' secondary attack which deals 60 damage and pulls opponents and teammates towards your location (including players out of Cars and those flying with the Wings of Icarus). The secondary attack can also pull items towards the user and can even pull items from Fishing Spots.

The Chains of Hades are extremely versatile for sporadic attacks and starting quick gunfights. The relatively high range for a melee weapon paired with its unique wide reticle makes the Chains of Hades very reliable to use and very easy to learn.
- With April 5th Hotfix, the Chains of Hades can knock down a full health, fully shielded, fully Overshielded player if the entire combo + the initial throw hit them.
Using the Chains of Hades to pull players out of using the Thunderbolt of Zeus or Wings of Icarus can help deal with them easier as doing so still triggers the items' respective cooldowns. Forcing the opponent using them to resort to other means.
While the Chains of Hades are very powerful in combat, they cannot pierce through a Shield Bubble Jr..
When combined with the Underworld Dash ability from the River Styx or the Aspect of Agility, you can close the distance on a player and eliminate them before they have a chance to escape or fire back.
