Chapter 2: Season 2, with the slogan "Top Secret", is the twelfth season of Fortnite: Battle Royale, which started on February 20th, 2020.
Previously the start date was going to be on December 13th, 2019, but was postponed to February 6th, 2020 to make way for the holidays and the Live At Risky event on the date after its previous end date.
Then, on January 24th, 2020, Epic Games announced that they will postpone it again to February 20th, 2020 to reveal secrets from the previous season and test Unreal Engine’s Chaos physics system.
The theme revolves around Secret Agents,
How did it start?
A detective base was constructed. And thus, a new force comes in: Ghost and Shadow. Some famous Fortnite faces like Lynx and Peely all put on their special outfits to join the force through a signal.
New To This Season
Ghost and Shadow
- Ghost and Shadow, which represents E.G.O. (Ghost) and A.L.T.E.R. (Shadow) are a permanent set of challenges in Battle Royale. Once you buy the battle pass, you can chose ONE (either Ghost or Shadow) and cannot change to the other. Once chosen, you are given access to a set of challenges that help you unlock one edit style for different cosmetics.
Rideable Gliders
- Gliders are now Rideable. You stand on top of them instead of hanging down below them.
Vaults and Vault Cards
- At the new POIs, henchmen are found galore around! Then, their boss that has an upped amount of shields, contains a special weapon and a keycard! This keycard can be used to open a vault nearby that houses various amounts of loot. They will usually contain a lot of weapons and quite a bit of shield.
Throwable Consumables
- This season allows consumables (shields, bandages, etc) to be thrown from quite the distance! This can help people stuck in icky situations and you cannot just reach them in time.
Battle Pass
The Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks like always.
