Chapter 4: Season 2, also known as Season 24, was the twenty-fourth season of Fortnite: Battle Royale and the second season of Chapter 4. It started on March 10th 2023 and concluded on June 8th 2023.
The season's theme was heavily inspired by both the Cyberpunk subgenre of sci-fi and traditional Japan; its slogan is MEGA.
Previously, in Fortnite...[]
In Chapter 4: Season 1, the Oathbound ruled the island. Its leader, The Ageless Champion, tasked Rift Warden Stellan with creating a Rift Gate, while a Shapeless Man watched them. With the help of A.M.I.E. and Kinetic Ore, he successfully constructed the gate. While testing it, A.M.I.E. discovered that The Scientist was in great danger so she built herself a bodysuit and entered the gate to go save him.
Pressured by the prospect of destruction by the Shapeless Man and The Ageless Champion's eagerness, Rift Warden Stellan turned on the Rift Gate, despite the possibility that it could end everything. However, a saboteur manipulated the coordinates so the gate did not stabilize. As a result, the gate was destroyed and a rift tore open the sky.
With nothing left to do, Rift Warden Stellan sat back to let the "stars decide."
How did it start?[]
This season started with several futuristic buildings and small islands being rifted onto the island as a result of the Rift Gate destabilization. Faulty Splits is crushed, and in its place MEGA City now stands tall, with a new biome forming on the landmass that got rifted in.
Chapter 4: Season 2 Story[]
After The Looper hacks into an encrypted Arcade Cabinet that happened to contain Peace Syndicate servers, they are caught by Evie, impressed by their ability, to recruit them for a secretive mission. It is revealed that MEGA City is from Evie's home reality, and that the city is in danger. Evie introduces us to Thunder, her superior and high ranking member of the Peace Syndicate, who then has The Looper prove their combat abilities by shooting down various targets in MEGA City. Then, Evie tells us she has suspicions that a saboteur is trying to start a war between all of the syndicates, by messing with one and pinning the blame on another - in an attempt to cause complete chaos so they can take control of the city. The Peace Syndicate's data network is hacked, so for The Looper's first mission, Evie asks us to retrieve the stolen data. After investigating, a terminal is found containing all of the lost data, including documents on Peace Syndicate members, Thunder's family recipes, and various other documents that have been corrupted. Evie finds that all of the Peace Syndicate's intel on the army of the Last Reality was amongst the files corrupted by the Saboteur. Thunder warns us that if the Saboteur is working with The Last Reality there is more than an inter-syndicate war at stake.
Evie is planning on dealing with the situation by uniting all of the syndicates together, so they decide to start with the River Guard. The River Guard are allies with the Peace Syndicate, and after gaining respect of The Looper they agree to take part in a safe meeting with their historic rivals, the Fox Clan. Despite their long-time hatred, the Fox Clan agree to take part in the meeting, so The Looper secured a meeting location for the two syndicates. To Evie's surprise, everyone remained calm and no weapons were drawn, with the meeting ending in an alliance between the River Guard and Fox Clan.
Evie later receives a message from The Luminaries that the saboteur has been stealing prototypes of weapons from their lab. Evie wants to recruit The Luminaries for her plan to bring peace to MEGA City, so she offers to find and return the weapon parts with The Looper in exchange for the Luminaries' assistance. After returning the weapon parts, The Luminaries are impressed and want The Looper to use their advanced technology to zero in on the location of the saboteur. After collecting crucial data with the Luminaries' sensor backpack, Evie, Thunder and the Looper report to Mystica. They reveal from the data that the saboteur is working with a syndicate called The Unseen that live for causing wild chaos, but it is unusual for them to do so quietly. Mystica says The Luminaries need time to investigate further. Later it's revealed that Dahlia was the saboteur and was working with The Last Reality and Triarch Nox. At the end of the season Earthquakes start happening across the Island, beginning the story for the next season.

Trivia[]
- There are files suggesting that this season and Chapter 4: Season 3 were originally intended to have been part of Chapter 3, implying that it would've lasted more than four seasons.[4]
- In turn, there's also files suggesting that Chapter 4: Season 4 was supposed to have taken the spot of Chapter 4: Season 2.[5]
- This season was the first to ever start on a Friday and the first to not start on a Sunday since Chapter 2: Season 8.
- This season's theme had a similar theme to Season 9 - Futuristic. However this season had more detail and Japanese theming in it.
- Mark Rein's teaser word for Chapter 4: Season 2 was "Neon ネオン."
- This season replaced the Midseason Drops Quests introduced in the prior season with Quest Rewards.
- There was large confusion regarding the start date of this season.
- Originally, the Battle Pass screen displayed the start date as March 10th,2023 but @FortniteStatus announced on February 15th 2023 that this would instead be changed to March 8th, 2023.[2]
- However, various Chapter 4: Season 1 quests were set to end on March 10th and the first teaser for this season by @FortniteGame included "3.10.23".[3] This resulted in users confusingly replying to the tweet.
- As a result, @FortniteStatus clarified that this season would in fact start on March 10th,[4] and Chapter 4: Season 1's ending date had previously been announced as March 8th since it was technically the last full day for some timezones.[5]
- The new Evergreen Biome is very similar to the Kantō region of Japan (Tokyo, Yokohama, Saitama, and Chiba) geographically.
- The Battle Pass outfit promo image and the Loading Screen version of the image noticeably has alternative or earlier renders of Imani, Thunder, and Stray that were likely replaced with their current ones.
- This is the only Chapter 4 season to not feature a new DMR.
- Chapter 4: Season 2 is the first season to have it's name in all caps. The later three being WILDS, LAST RESORT, and OG.
