The Wilds await in Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 4 Season 3. The center of the Island has collapsed, revealing a vast, hidden jungle with ancient secrets to discover. Ascend to canopies, ride raptors, and slide in the mud for speed and camouflage. Detect enemies from the canopies with the “Thermal DMR,” skate on vines firing the “Flapjack Rifle,” and turn opponents into spectators with the “Cybertron Cannon.”^[1]

Chapter 4: Season 3, also known as Season 25, was the twenty-fifth season of Fortnite: Battle Royale. It started on June 9th 2023, and concluded on August 25th 2023.

The season was themed around jungles and tropical areas, and its slogan was named WILDS.

In Ranked, Chapter 4: Season 3 is the continuation of Season 0, which started with the release of the game mode the season before.

In Chapter 4: Season 2, a new biome, home to MEGA City and surrounding areas, smashed through the rift in the sky, crashing into the southeast side of the island and destroying Faulty Splits as a result.

Shortly after the impact, and while the island was distracted with The Syndicate’s saboteur, rumbles started to occur around Hidden Henge and north of Anvil Square.

The rumbles intensified eventually causing parts of the island to split. At the splits south of Hidden Henge and Anvil Square, The Explorers set up excavation camps after jungle vines emerged from the cracks…

How did it start?[]

After rumbles intensified around Anvil Square and Hidden Henge, the terrain crumbled and the center of Asteria collapsed, revealing a long-abandoned jungle which had been hidden beneath the surface of the Island since The Paradigm initiated Zero Fusion.

Chapter 4: Season 3 Story[]

An abandoned jungle full of ancient secrets is revealed after the center of the Island collapses. The Explorers, a team of explorers with connections to The Luminaries, traverse the rainforest and set up expedition camps around their main base, Creeky Compound.

Slone, thought to be dead after the conclusion of the Zero War, found herself trapped in the jungle before or during Zero Fusion after she was rescued by someone. She no longer wears the Imagined Order insignia and tells Gunnar in character dialogue that she is "done" with the IO. It’s been revealed that Relik is her rescuer. When The Looper talks to her as Relik, she says, "Just because you got me back on my feet doesn't mean I owe you," which correlates to one of her audio logs where she says, "I’ll have to thank my rescuer. Hope he doesn’t expect a fruit basket." In another one of her five audio logs scattered around the jungle, Slone says that she’s "found an ancient busted machine" thought to be a "telescope or stellar projector." After getting closer to The Apparatus, Slone learns that it uses refined Kinetic Ore prisms to "manipulate light."

Chalice of Cubetastrophe - Lore - Fortnite

Elsewhere on the Island, Trace stumbles across a "powerful object" in the jungle they don’t understand. Treasure hunter Aura finds out and enlists The Looper to help her track down its location. She tells The Looper to steal field notes about the Chalice from The Explorers files. After reporting back to Aura, she says "The cup wanted to be found by a new wielder" so orders The Looper to investigate petroglyphs at Rumble Ruins to help locate the Chalice. The Looper returns the petroglyph sketches to Aura and from them, she recreates a map that reveals the Chalice of Cubetastrophe is located where Anvil Square once stood. Aura guides The Looper to the hidden ruins in the jungle to retrieve the Chalice. They offer 100 bars and collect the Chalice from Orelia's box. After having succeeded in finding the chalice and having taken it, The Looper transforms into Orelia (if female skin) or Oro (if male skin). The Looper returns to Aura as Orelia or Oro and they come to an agreement: Aura would take and seal the chalice and Orelia and Oro would be resettled in a golden fork. The Looper turns back to their normal form and Aura manages to seal the Chalice of Cubetastrophe before it falls into the wrong hands.

Optimus Prime tells us on the Fortnite radio station, that he has been in contact with Slone. Optimus Prime tells us that Slone alone knows the path forward. Optimus Prime warns us that great danger is on the horizon. The power that once flowed through the Island has faded, and formidable enemies have taken notice. Then Optimus proceeds to tell us that the answers we seek lie deep within the starless void that brought you here. Optimus tells us that those who lived on the Island long ago discovered a secret among the stars. Saying the artifacts they left behind will help us, and tells us we will find everything we need to study the stars.

The Apparatus (v25.30 - Camp) - Landmark - Fortnite

Slone's investigation into the Apparatus have been interrupted by a group called the Explorers. Slone then makes contact with the Explorers as a possible expert for their team. Slone says that if she can get them to excavate the site she can get the Apparatus working. Slone looks at the glyphs as they are the only clues for the Apparatus. The Explorers have pushed on with the excavation. While Slone needs to find out how to power it. Slone moves from her tank over to Rumble Ruins and uncovers a strange glyph on the wall.

After the Loopers get all the prisms to Trace they tell us "You found it! The last Kinetic Prism we need. We've been working with Doctor Slone to get them installed for the Apparatus." After Doctor Slone activates the Apparatus, it gives a countdown until the Eclipse starts, tying in to the next season.

Battle Pass[]

The Battle Pass will cost 950 V-Bucks, with an additional 25-Level Boost offer for 1,950 V-Bucks. If you own a Fortnite Crew subscription, you will unlock the Battle Pass for free.

Battle Pass levels require 80,000 or up to 100 can be bought for 150 V-Bucks each.

The start date for this season was originally June 2nd 2023 but @FortniteStatus announced on April 27th 2023 that Chapter 4: Season 2 would end June 9th 2023.^[2] Most Likely Changed so the New Season came out with Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
Mark Rein's teaser word for Chapter 4: Season 3 was "Jungle."
This is the second season to start on a Friday, the previous being Chapter 4: Season 2.
This is the First Season to have a remake as the Bonus Outfit with Purradise Meowscles.
This is the first and only season of Chapter 4 to not have a Original Tier 100 Outfit, with Optimus Prime.
The Key Art for this season was leaked around May 27th 2023, before the official teasers.
The Key Art shows a Cursed Llama in the distance underneath the Raptor's tail, foreshadowing the Jujutsu Kaisen collaboration two months before the Break the Curse! event would be announced on August 1, 2023.
There are files suggesting that this season and Chapter 4: Season 2 were originally intended to have been part of Chapter 3, implying that it would've lasted more than four seasons.[1]
