The season's main slogan is Absolute Doom with a theme around Marvel Comics, and is centered on Doctor Doom.

It is the final season of Chapter 5 to be on Helios.

Previously, in Fortnite…[]

In Chapter 5: Season 1, Pandora's Box was opened by Valeria which unleashed the souls of The Underworld to the Island.

In Chapter 5: Season 2, The Pantheon arrived on the Island to close the box and punish The Society. After they resealed the evil souls of The Underworld away in the cursed box, Zeus decided to kill all mortals. The Oracle, The Looper, Aphrodite, Artemis, Apollo, Poseidon, Medusa, Hope, and Jones fought against the gods, finally defeating Zeus once and for all. In a last desperate act, Zeus made the statue at Mount Olympus strike Pandora's Box three times to unleash Nitro from within, creating a huge sandstorm that engulfed the southern part of the Island and attracted the Wasteland Warriors toward the Island as well as making the box disappear.

In Chapter 5: Season 3, the Wasteland Warriors arrived and claimed the Wasteland as well as all the Nitro, with their leader Megalo Don seeking the power of Pandora's Box and to raze the

Island. After getting some advice from a mysterious hooded Wanderer, he had a pipeline built connecting the Nitro Refinery to his Leviathan ship. When the time came he activated it to refuel his ship. However, The Wanderer, who revealed himself as Doctor Doom, betrayed him and hacked the pipeline, making it explode in a chain reaction and revealing Pandora's Box. The Oracle later reveals that Hope and Pandora's Box are linked by fate, but Doctor Doom has interfered in this destiny. Hope and her forces must fight against Doom's forces and win.

How did it start?[]

Doctor Doom went near Pandora's Box and opened the box, absorbing all of its power. He then gathered powerful allies, such as Emma Frost, Mysterio, Meowtooth, etc. establishing the Kingdom of Doom. Doom also killed Silver Surfer, Ultron, Galactus, Moon Knight, Doctor Strange, Namor, Thanos, Magneto, and the Fantastic Four. Due to Pandora's Box's powers trying to control Doom, he is making a new armor for himself. Magneto, before dying, called reinforcements from Reality: 616 to fight alongside Heroic Hope against the Kingdom of Doom!

Storyline[]

War Machine, Shuri, Gwenpool, Iron Spider, Cyclops, Colossus, Jubilee, Cable, Rogue, and Gambit have arrived from Reality: 616. Peely has also been turned into Peelverine, Vengeance Jones became Captain Jones, and Hope is now Heroic Hope, who is destined to defeat Doom. Doom has also gone into hiding in order to make his new armour.

In Part 1 of the Found Quests, Gwenpool had intentionally got "captured" in The Raft in order to get intel. The Looper steals an ID chip from a henchman and gives it to Gwenpool. Gwenpool says that the ID chip had *some* intel, but not all of it. She then asks The Looper to hack into The Raft's systems to get a flash drive using the passphrase "CYNTHIA", which they do and give to Gwenpool. Lastly, Gwenpool asks The Looper to steal some computer chips from electronic crates to give to Shuri. At the end of Part 1 of the Found Quests, The Looper gives the chips to Gwenpool. She mentions how Shuri needs the chips for "rift tech".

In Part 1 of Story Quests, "Are We Doomed?", The Looper finds Doom's helmet at Redline Rig, Hope, Jones, and The Oracle explain that the helmet is a prototype. The Looper proceeds to bring the helmet to Hope, who says that she's confused on how Doom took over the Island so quickly. She suspects that Doom is up to something that will destroy them all and she has no idea how to stop him. Jones says that Doom wanted them to find the helmet and has The Looper try to find anything else of importance with no success. The Looper than finds recording devices of Doom's memos, which reveal that Doom plans to make a world of perfect order and he needs to upgrade his armour in order to contain the box's power. At the end of Part 1 of Story Quests, Hope says that Doom is controlling his army remotely using Doombot technology and they need to first find Doom before we can fight him.

In Part 2 of Story Quests, "Heroes Assemble", Jones asks The Looper to open a Doom Chest. Jones asks them if there was anything interesting inside and starts telling them about his past. Later, The Looper eliminates a Latverian Guard to retrieve a shipping manifest from Doom. They give the manifesto to War Machine who deciphers it; it's pieces from Pandora's Box that Doom uses to create his new armour. So, The Looper gets trained by War Machine using his Arsenal and his Hover Jets. Later, they intercept a discussion between Jones, Hope and The Oracle, who says that she saw something new. "A feline ally. A cunning plan. A victory, hidden in defeat". Due to this, Hope panics more and more about her role as the heroine. At the end of Part 2 of Story Quests, Jones says that Shuri met with him, saying that she has a plan to take down the Doombot.

In Part 3 of Story Quests, "Shuri's Invention", Hope has The Looper go on a supply run via SHADOW Briefings while Shuri acquires some parts, including a power source, to reverse the energetic flow of the Rift Beacons, which Magneto used to summon superheroes from Reality: 616, to create Rift Recalibrators, which will hopefully Rift Doom off the Island. Once The Looper bring these parts to Shuri, she begins building the invention; meanwhile, Hope continues to doubt that Pandora's Box might have chosen her as the heroine wrongfully, despite the Oracle's prophecy, despite that, she will do her best to save the Island from Doom's domination. Later on, The Looper and Underground forces establish at least three Recalibrators near Castle Doom to test them on the Doombot. As the heroes engage the robot, the Recalibrators abruptly malfunctions when activated. This drives the Underground forces to destroy the Doombot and retreat as they hear Doom's voice threatening Hope that he is "judgement," even if she is chosen as the heroine as the prophecy foretold. Doom also began building a massive army of Doombots with Looper-based behaviours. Following the Underground's defeat, Hope and Shuri retrieve the data from the broken Rift Recalibrators, discovering that Doom's accomplices, Emma Frost and Mysterio, had sabotaged the devices, so the heroes must defeat them first before Doom arrives, starting with Mysterio.

In Part 4 of Story Quests, "The Illusionist", The Looper and Underground forces begin the hunt for Mysterio, starting by investigating his whereabouts and some mysteries in the peaceful-looking town of Doomstadt. According to the Oracle, the villain is conjuring illusions to brainwash many people of the Island, including the Wastelanders who sided with the Underground, this pushes Hope into liberating Mysterio's victims from his influence in which Jones remarks her passion for justice as an attribute of her leadership. The Underground forces eventually defeat the illusionist and vandalize Doomstadt through graffiti paintings and even deface the statue of Doctor Doom as a finishing touch. With Emma Frost as the next target, Shuri creates replacements of Rift Recalibrators to rift Doom off the Island. Although Hope still cannot understand if she has "everything [she] needs" to defeat him, the Oracle clarifies that Hope must seek prophetic enlightenment to help her accomplish her goal as a heroine.

In Part 5 of Story Quests, "I am Iron Man", Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man, has arrived on the island in his Mark 45 Armour, has recovered from his defeat by Doctor Doom, and is now providing Stark Tech, including energy rifles and his and War Machine's gear, via chests and Stark Mobile Armouries to the Underground forces; thus helping them turn the tide in the war. Later, while The Looper is flying above Castle Doom with Iron Man's Flight Kit, they guide the Rift Recalibrators to detect a strong signal above here. After the Underground forces test the firepower of Stark weaponry, they plan to eliminate Emma Frost with Tony's help.

Meanwhile, at the start of "Stark Fan Club Quests", when The Looper hears about the Stark Fan Club from the Wastelanders, they head to Doomstadt to communicate with Super Stark Fan, via laptop, who aims to collect Stark memorabilia. After The Looper receives a coffee mug from Tony, his sunglasses found in one of Stark chests, and a dartboard with War Machine's support, they help complete the collection to gain the appeal of Stark Fan Club.

In Part 6 of Story Quests, "Diamond in The Raft", Hope subtly instructs The Looper on a plan to eliminate Emma Frost via phone to avoid the mutant's telepathy. With a help of a Forecast Tower and a hired Scout or Supply Specialist, the Underground forces proceed with the plan by planting Tony's power dampeners near the Raft to nullify Emma's psychic abilities, which provokes her. As The Looper fights Emma, suddenly, Jones warns Hope that the Rift Beacons have detected a big hostile signal heading towards the island, Doctor Doom has finished perfecting his armour and is on his way back. Although The Looper defeat Emma Frost, Hope continues to panic that they are not ready to face him. However, the Oracle mentions that heroes of prophecies care about justice in a right way, despite the fact they can "scream" and "cry", and she also noted that Hope's persistence and fighting spirit makes her the leader and the heroine; this helps Hope regain her confidence to win the war against Doom.

Before the Absolute Doom Event, Peelverine needs The Looper's help to activate the large Rift Beacons, placed at the west of Reckless Railways and pointing towards Doom's Arcane Forge. As they are brought online by Hope as the timer for the Live Event ticks down, the timer eventually hits zero and the Rift Beacons attempt to warp the Forge off the island with Doom in it. However, Doom repels the Beacon's beams by conjuring a shield for the Forge and creates a shockwave that knocks everyone onto the dried-up lake on the center of the island. As the dust settles, Doom, wearing his new armour, steps out of the dust cloud in a giant size and begins wiping out the Underground forces and their allies. When he tries to vaporize Jones, Hope saves him by blocking the villain's energy beam with Jones' Shield, which she rams into Doom's face which not only scars Doom's eye but also her arm. As the climactic battle continues, the heroes manage to weaken Doom and his armour starts to crack, leaking out the powers of the Pandora's Box; meanwhile the only remaining Rift Beacon repositions itself and fires at him. Once Doom takes enough damage, the Rift pulls him in along with the Pandora's Box's energy to warp him out of the island, leaving his mask planted on the ground of the Central Lake. His defeat marks the victory for the Underground against the Kingdom of Doom.

But the story has not ened yet: the Rift Beacons were damaged by Doom's arrival and were found lying next to some Named Locations and glitching. Suspicious pumpkins and grass grew around them... Eventually the damaged Rift Beacons summoned various Ultima Carver, monsters and horror movie characters (possibly fron the Halloween reality that was seen during The Big Bang), and Fortnitemares 2024 began. Many Named Locations were overgrown by giant pumpkins, Ultima Carver took over Brawler's Battleground, transfroming it into Brawler's Patch, and Reckless Railways was also transformed into a haunted farm named Freaky Fields. Mephisto also arrived, claiming Hades' throne and turning River Styx's water bloodish red.

While the island was haunted by the monsters, the broken Rift Beacon at Restored Reels was mysteriously set in front of the Big Screen. Some days later it was repaired, and two graffiti arts of The Agency and The Shark done by Hope were drawn on the screen. Later, the Beacon started projecting an energy wave onto the screen, creating a Rift in the center. After that a suspiciously golden DJ deck got connected to the screen, with a Rift Butterfly flying around. It would play the Chapter 2: Season 2 Boss music when approached. All signs were hinting that we would return to a place many of us called a second home...

...but with a twist. When the Beacon was finally activated, it projected a live recording of the real world Times Square, where suddenly, Ice Spice started performing her songs. After her on the stage came Snoop Dogg and also started singing. In the end, he flipped a recording and set it on the same golden DJ booth. After that, the show ended with a bang, and we found ourself on the beloved island Apollo, but not exactly how we remembered it. And so, that's how the truly special Chapter 2 Remix started...

Trivia[]

  • Mark Rein's teaser word for Chapter 5: Season 4 was "Absolute".[10]
  • In the Chapter 5: Season 4 cinematic trailer, Captain Jones shakes hands with Cyclops the same way Ryu does in X-Men vs. Street Fighter's intro.
  • Chapter 5: Season 4 is the second season to feature only collaborations within its Battle Pass, with the previous season being Chapter 2: Season 4.
    • Coincidentally, both seasons were themed around Marvel, started in August, and were the fourth seasons of their respective Chapters.
  • Chapter 5: Season 4 is the first season in which the Battle Pass Cosmetics are not exclusive, as they have the possibility of returning to the Item Shop 18 months or more after the season's expiration.[11]
    • This change was made primarily to enable players down the road to also enjoy the content, notably the outfits based on popular licensed characters.
  • Chapter 5: Season 4’s theme was previously shown when Epic Games' Fortnite roadmap for 2024 was leaked online.
    • The keyart in the roadmap is a cropped picture of the 2022 Fantastic Four comics, primarily Issue 7.
  • Chapter 5: Season 4 is the second season to fully vault Sniper Rifles, the first being Chapter 2: Season 6.
