Cobalt Slingshot is a Pistol in Fortnite that was added in Chapter 6: Mini Season 2.
Functionality[]
Cobalt Slingshot functions like a Bow, in which it needs to be charged up in order to fire. The longer the slingshot is charged, the further the player can launch the projectile, but the damage is the same regardless of charge. When the slingshot is charged, or in the process of, the player gets an indicator arc similar to a Grenade that shows where the projectile will land and the arc it will follow. The projectile launched is very fast and explosive with a small range of splash damage.
Upon the projectile's impact, it will create a green-ish radiation area similar to a Stink Bomb that lasts for 3.5 seconds, and deals damage every half second. The damage it deals bypasses shields and directly affects the opponents' health. The thrower of the projectile is not immune to the radiation area's effect, but their teammates are.
Firing the item reduces the durability meter. Once the durability meter reaches 0%, the item breaks and is removed from the player's inventory.
