Disambig-iconFor information on Consumables in Battle Royale, see Consumables (Battle Royale).

Consumables are a type of item in Fortnite: Save the World. These items are designed to restore player health, assist the player, or manage hordes of Monsters.

Functionality[]

Consumables are used to boost players' health or to assist in dealing damage to Monsters. Players must remain stationary for a brief moment to use consumables, after which the buff is applied, either immediately or gradually. Throwable Items, originally introduced in Fortnite: Battle Royale, are also categorized as Consumables.

Consumables have a dedicated inventory slot, but players can assign a consumable to one of the three main inventory slots if they need be. They do not persist between missions and are removed from the Inventory once the current mission ends.

History[]

Update v1.0[]

Update v1.71[]

  • Fixed an issue that caused weapons which stacked (Bottle Rockets, etc) not to auto-equip a different weapon once the stack was depleted.

Update v3.10[]

  • Impulse Grenade has been added.
    • Blast enemies into the air and off cliffs!
    • Use these to bounce yourself or your friends up to hard-to-reach places!
    • These are temporary power-ups that will be removed from the backpack at the end of the mission.

Update v3.40[]

  • Remote Explosives have been added! Go and blow something up… remotely.
    • Use fire to place an explosive, alt-fire to detonate all the ones you have placed.
    • They can blow up structures (aside from the ones your team has built) in addition to enemies.
      NOTE: They cannot hurt objectives.
    • They can also detonate when they take damage from weapons.
    • These are found in the world, and do not persist past the end of the mission.

Update v3.50[]

  • Doubled the knockback distance of the Impulse Grenade against enemies. It longer affects allies.

Update v3.60[]

  • Clingers added.
    • This grenade sticks to targets and explodes a short time later, and does not damage player built structures.
    • Can be found in drops in the world, and expires at the end of the mission.

Update v4.00[]

Update v4.30[]

  • Port-a-Fort is now available as a world drop.
    • The Port-a-Fort is made of metal and is three stories high.
    • Does not stay in your inventory after the end of a mission.
  • Changed M80's and Bottle Rockets to be non-persistent items. They no longer take up inventory space and have their descriptions updated to reflect the change.

Update v4.50[]

  • Changed loot drops for specialized grenade items (Impulse Grenades, Port-A-Fort, etc) so that new players won't encounter these items during the tutorial.
  • Fixed a problem where storage transfer was prevented from filling unused space due to a bug with M80s and Bottle Rockets.
