Available in Fortnite Creative, the Content Browser allows creators to access a wide range of Assets, Items, Devices, and more. Creators can also access Island Settings and Quick Settings from the Content Browser.
This Article is an overview of each feature or type of content that is available in the Content Browser, For in-depth information about each type of content, eg Galleries, please navigate to that content's individual article. More information can also be found on the official Creative/UEFN documentation website.
Content[]
There are many different things that can be found in the Content Browser, including:
Prefabs are pre-built structures that Creators can place into their islands. They are great for quickly adding detail or for use as a foundation when designing buildings. Prefabs come in a wide variety: from houses, hotels, and restaurants to futuristic labs, a coliseum, and castles. While they can be used as-is, many Creators use them as a base and then modify them to suit their needs.
Unlike Prefabs, Galleries are a collection of assets that are laid out so that it is easy to see each asset. Galleries are useful to those who are looking to make their own buildings, rather than re-use a pre-existing one. Like Prefabs, Galleries can be opened so that Creators can select each individual asset without having to place down the entire Gallery. There are many types of Galleries, such as Vehicle Galleries, Nature Galleries, Terrain Galleries, and Building Galleries.
Devices are used to make Mechanics in Fortnite Creative. Every Device has a unique function, such as tracking player eliminations, modifying gameplay rules (such as player health) during a game, controlling the player's camera, and creating an impenetrable barrier. Each Device has many options; from the appearance of the Device to the functionality in-game. Devices are divided into many categories, including: Damage, Environment, Player, Settings, and Zones.
The Weapons section contains most of the Weapons that have ever been/currently are in Fortnite (see exceptions here). There are 7 weapon rarities: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, and Exotic. The Weapons section allows creators to filter weapons by these rarities, and also other filterable subcategories, such as: Lawless, Medium Ammo, Primal, Bows, Special Ammo, and Submachine Guns.
The Items section contains most of the Items that have ever been/currently are in Fortnite (see exceptions here). There is a wide range of items, each with their own abilities. There are 7 item rarities: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, and Exotic. The Items section allows creators to filter weapons by these rarities, and also other filterable subcategories, such as: Fire-Starting, Flipped, Throwable, and Transport
You can add the aforementioned Weapons and Items to a Chest in the "Chest" section. In the Weapons and Items sections, there will be the option to "Add to Chest." Clicking this will put that item into the Chest section. Once your desired Weapons and Items are in this tab, you can click "Create Chest" or "Create Llama" to create a Chest or a Loot Llama that can be picked up like a prop and placed around your island. Note: You can only add up to 15 items at a time to a Chest. There is also no way to randomize which loot is dropped from these chests.
Island Settings[]

This Section contains a brief overview of The "My Island" Menu. For the full list of settings, see Creative Island Settings.
The My Island menu is the First tab in the Creative Inventory and it is used to customize your island by modifying things, such as the Gravity, whether Sprinting is enabled, Weapon Destruction, and many more things.
There are many sections in the My Island menu, including:
The Game tab allows Creators to modify island-wide settings, such as the Game Countdown Length and the Auto-start Duration. Settings found in here are not usually found elsewhere (with a couple of exceptions). The Game tab also allows Creators to control matchmaking in their islands. For example, they can increase or reduce the maximum amount of players allowed in at one time. They can also change the matchmaking privacy and the amount of rounds that are played per session.
The Settings tab allows Creators to have advanced control of the players and interactive objects in their experiences. For example, they can change the level of gravity, whether players obtain syphon from eliminations, the maximum amount of building materials that can be carried at once, whether building is enabled, and how many item slots a player has. Most of the options in this tab can be modified elsewhere during the game. For example, the Class Selector allows things, like player movement speed and whether sliding is enabled, to be changed mid-game. The Settings tab also allows creators to adjust the Time of Day and other aesthetic changes on their island.
The UI tab is different to the other 2 setting tabs. Rather than directly changing gameplay, the UI tab can be used to change the look and feel of the player's HUD and User Interface. The UI tab can do many things, such as changing the victory sound and animation, to selecting which additional information is displayed on the screen. It can also show and hide certain elements of the UI. The UI tab's settings usually can't be modified by Devices during the game, however there are a few exceptions.
The Debug tab allows Creators to find and solve issues in their experiences. It allows creators to use handy tools, such as enabling invincibility or being able to see the navigation bounds for AI, in case they can access a certain area that was not intended for them. The Debug tab can be very useful in Creative. It is worth noting that these options do not affect published islands and are purely for testing purposes.
The Tools tab gives Creators a variety of tools to use when creating their experience. For example, Creators can create backups of their experiences, which they can restore at any time if anything goes wrong. The Tools tab also allows Creators to publish their creations, update already-published creations, and get publishing help. They can also use it to convert their islands to any ongoing beta tests (for example, the V2 Devices beta).
Without this tab, Creative mode would be very different. The Permissions tab allows you to grant and remove edit permissions for all players, and it can also be modified for specific trusted (or untrusted) individuals. This tab is mainly used to stop scammers or trolls from entering into your islands and deleting things or placing random objects. The Permissions tab also acts as a way to see who is currently editing your island, and sometimes it will show who has recently edited your island, too.
This tab is effectively a miniature version of the Outliner in Unreal Engine. It allows Creators to browse every device that is currently placed in the world. On top of this, Creators can see what events belong to which Device, and they can also use the built-in teleport function to quickly get to a Device that is MII or is causing issues.
