The Crack Closure was a series of Mini-Live Events in Fortnite OG, OG Chapter 1: Season 5.

Buildup

After The Rocket Launch Event, which happened on July 26th 2025, The Visitor (Reality Unknown) made an unstable Rift in the sky. This eventually got bigger and bigger until it started to shrink. At a certain point, lighting started coming out of the rift. Every time that happened, the crack started to slightly shrink.

Event Summary

On August 31st, 2025, lightning started striking a hill north of Truck 'N' Oasis, destroying a cactus every few hours. Eventually, it would spawn Revin the Cube, who would roll around the map making runes. The crack disappeared with the same sound effect it had when it was made.

  • The Sideways Rift began spitting out dark mists.

August 30th 2025

• 2:00 PM ET:
  • A short burst of lightning struck down the 1st cactus at The Birthplace.

• 2:01 PM - 4:59 PM ET:
  • Short lightning strikes every hour.

• 5:00 PM ET:
  • A short burst of lightning struck down the 2nd cactus.

• 5:01 PM - 7:59 PM ET:
  • Short lightning strikes every 30 minutes.

• 8:00 PM ET:
  • A short burst of lightning struck down the 3rd cactus.

• 8:01 PM - 10:59 PM ET:
  • Short lightning strikes every 15 minutes.

• 11:00 PM ET:
  • A short burst of lightning struck down the 4th cactus.

• 11:01 PM - 1:59 AM ET:
  • Short lightning strikes every 7.5 minutes.

Trivia

• It was foreshadowed that in the trailer for OG Chapter 1: Season 5 that the lightning would eventually spawn the Cube, which was red just like the Crack.
• There were too many lightning strikes to list all of the times, so it only displays the times that something noteworthy happened.

Differences from Chapter 1

• Unlike its Chapter 1 counterpart, the OG version of Crack Closure is announced by Epic, albeit with the date and time not being shown.
• Instead of being one of the Corruption Cubes AKA Kevin, the Cube that spawned was a Red Cube under the Alias Revin.

The Crack Closure was a series of Mini-Live Events in Fortnite: Battle Royale, August 24, 2018, during Season 5. It was a short event, not announced by Epic Games.

Buildup

After the Blast Off event, which happened on June 30th 2018, The Visitor made a giant Rift in the sky. This eventually got bigger and bigger until it started to shrink. At a certain point, lighting came out of the rift every 30/60 minutes. Every time that happened, the crack started to slightly shrink, with just one line disappearing.

Event Summary
