Crossbows are a type of weapon in Fortnite: Battle Royale. The purpose of these weapons is mid to long range combat. Crossbows either have an infinite ammo reserve of 
Crossbow Bolts, or use other ammo types like 
Medium Bullets or Arrows.
Functionality[]
Crossbows are unique in that they do not require ammo pickups to reload, instead using an infinite reserve of ammo. Due to this, they deal only 1 damage to structures per shot. Crossbows fire a single fast moving projectile shot affected by gravity.
The Dual Fiend Hunters break this rule in that they use Medium Bullets, and are hitscan. The Plunger Bow uses Arrows, as it is mistakenly classed as a Crossbow.

Trivia[]
- The Plunger Bow is mistakenly classified as a Crossbow, even though it is visually and functionally a Bow.
- When TNTina's Ka-Boom Bow was re-added to the game's files in Chapter 4: Season 4, it was categorized as a Crossbow despite having the functions of a Bow.
- When the Boom Bow was first added it was classified as a Crossbow.
- This was changed in an Unkown Update.
