Crossbows, are a type of weapon in Fortnite: Battle Royale. The purpose of these weapons is for long range combat. These weapons have an infinite ammo reserve.

Functionality

Crossbows come in two different forms: Crossbows and Bows.

Crossbows are unique in that they do not require ammo pickups to reload, instead using an infinite reserve. Due to this, they deal only 1 structure damage per shot. Bows use ammo reserves and deal decent structure damage. Bows also get a targeting arc, like a Throwable Item, showing where the projectile will land.

Both Types are good for medium to long range combat, but are generally weak and difficult to use. All Crossbows have a projectile bolt, meaning that the bolt does not instantly hit where the player aims. The projectile is affected by gravity. Crossbows do not have fall-off damage, meaning they deal the same damage up close as they do at any range.

Strategy Guide

The risk was calculated... but man I'm bad at math.
This section outlines a strategy. Feel free to add tips, tricks and general advice about the topic.

  • It is very unwise to use a crossbow against structures, as it deals only 1 damage per shot.
  • The Boom Bow is useful for attacking players around structures, due to the weapon's splash damage.
