Cupid's Crossbow is Crossbow in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It was added in Season 7.

Cupid's Crossbow is the seasonal variant of the Crossbow.

Functionality[]

The Crossbow is a projectile based semi auto weapon and fires a fast moving bolt, which is affected by gravity. The weapon slow to fire, makes very little noise when shot, and has a projectile that whilst fast, is slower than the bullet from other Sniper Rifles. The weapon is fitted with a scope, and has no falloff damage. Like other Sniper Rifles, it is ineffective at close range, due to its poor hipfire spread, and slow firing speed.

Cupid's Crossbow is a projectile based weapon. It has a scope, so first shot accuracy is irrelevant. There is no damage falloff on the Crossbow's projectiles.

Stats[]

Cupid's Crossbow uses Crossbow Bolts but has an infinite reserve and still needs to be reloaded. It has a headshot multiplier of 2.0x.

Strategy Guide[]

This section outlines a strategy.
Feel free to add tips, tricks and general advice about the topic.
  • It's best not to use Cupid's Crossbow to take down structures; it only deals one damage to them.
  • Cupid's Crossbow plays very similarly to a marksman rifle and should be used as such.
  • The notches near the bottom of its scope can be used to account for its bullet drop. If your first shot is too low to hit your opponent, aim with the next notch down to land your follow-up shot.
  • Its slow fire rate makes it unsuited for dealing with weapons that fire fast, such as the Assault Rifle. Try to put some distance between you and your opponent before using the Crossbow.
  • Cupid's Crossbow is one of the most silent weapons in the game, even more so than most bows. As such, it's likely that if you miss your first shot your opponent may not even notice.
    • If the shot lands near the opponent they may hear the kissing sound effect and know they're being shot at.
  • Cupid's Crossbow can be used at extremely close ranges in a pinch, although its fire rate makes it very unsuited for this.
  • Cupid's Crossbow heavily benefits from landing headshots. Always aim for the head when using the Crossbow.
  • Despite its scope being very similar to those of sniper rifles, Cupid's Crossbow doesn't feature sniper glint. Because of this, you can stay aimed at your opponent for long durations of time without giving away your position.

Counters[]

  • Cupid's Crossbow is unsuited for close range engagements, so keeping within said range when in an engagement with an opponent wielding Cupid's Crossbow can be beneficial.

Weapon ID[]

The Crossbow is referred to as Sniper Valentine in the files.

  • Epic: WID_Sniper_Valentine_Athena_VR_Ore_T03
