Strategy Guide[]
This section outlines a strategy. | |
---|---|
Feel free to add tips, tricks and general advice about the topic. |
- The DMR excels at medium to longer ranges, so make sure to keep a closer ranged weapon for close quarters engagements.
- The DMR has a recoil pattern that resets on not firing for a few seconds, so for accurate fire, be patient and wait for it to reset.
- Players should aim above targets at long ranges to compensate for bullet drop. The further the target the higher the player should aim. They should also aim in the direction a target is moving at long ranges to compensate for the bullet travel time. The faster and further the target the further the player should aim.
- If the player feels confident enough in being able to use this weapon at closer ranges too, the DMR can be a replacement for the Ranger Assault Rifle and Striker Burst Rifle, as both are mostly used for accurate mid-range firing. This will save a slot in the inventory as the DMR works both as an Assault Rifle and Sniper.
- This is especially an advantage in the early game, as Assault Rifles and the DMR also share the same ammo.
- In Duos or Squads, it would be wise for players to not carry the same ranged weapon, meaning that both at least a DMR and a Sniper should be carried to be better prepared for more combat situations.

Trivia[]
- The DMR is modeled after the American M14 Rifle with a scope mounted.
- The DMR's bolt reciprocates out of the receiver when firing, unlike the real M14 Rifle where it is completely contained within the receiver.
- The DMR's name is an abbreviation of the long name, "Designated Marksman Rifle."
- The DMR was the first Marksman Rifle introduced to the game.
- However, the DMR still counts for Sniper Rifle-related Accolades and Quests, uses the Wrap equipped for Sniper Rifles, and was present in Sniper Rifle Vending Machines before Chapter 4: Season 1.
