— In-Game Description

The Damage Trap is a Trap in Fortnite: Battle Royale that was introduced in the Pre-Season.

Functionality[]

Damage Traps are a trap which can be placed on any player owned or neutral structure, in any direction or orientation. When an opponent enters the tile they are placed on, the trap will activate, dealing damage.

The Trap can be 'dodged' by entering the tile and quickly leaving. This sets off the trap but does not deal damage.

Damage Traps appear blue colored if a friendly player has placed them, and red colored if an enemy has.

  • The Damage Trap serves as the replacement for the Wall Dynamo and Ceiling Zapper.
  • The Damage Trap has Rare variants in UEFN which are separate versions for floors, walls and ceilings. This was likely done so it's easier to place the trap in the editor.
  • The Damage Trap was most likely vaulted in response to a number of community complaints about players using several Damage Traps to eliminate opponents. From its vault in Chapter 2: Season 2, it has only been unvaulted for Fortnite OG.
