Dance Moves is a Common Emote in Fortnite, that comes free with every account. Dance Moves was first released in the Pre-Season.
Dance Moves is one of 719 emotes that can be used within LEGO Fortnite.
Trivia[]
- Dance Moves is one of the most well-known emotes in Fortnite, likely due to it being included with every account.
- Dance Moves is colloquially known as the Default Dance due to the association of it with Recruit Outfits.
- Dance Moves is based off of Turk's dance from the TV show Scrubs. Turk was dancing to Bell Biv Devoe's Poison.
- Dance Moves is one of the few Emotes to have more than one audio track play when it is activated. It currently has two, one played with what seems to be an electric guitar and the other with marching drums.
- However, the second version will never play on the Nintendo Switch and Mobile versions of the game, most likely because these were released later than the original game and with missing content (for example, Save the World).
- There was originally a third audio track that played, but was removed during Season 3 in Update v3.30. It had a great resemblance to the opening of George Michael's Faith, which is likely why it was removed. The original audio of the emote can be heard here.
- Lastly in addition to the other 3 variants, a fourth variant also existed very early in Fortnite's development. The main instruments come from the brass family and didn't make it into Battle Royale's version of Dance Moves. The original audio of the emote can be heard here.
- All of the audio variants were originally tied to specific Hero classes in Save the World before they were shortened and rotated after each other.
- If any non Bot human AI such as Guards or Bosses gets stuck anywhere their pathing cannot register, they will resort to doing Dance Moves until it resets and fixes itself.
