Delulu is a Zero Build Limited Time Mode in Fortnite that was introduced in Update v37.30.
Gameplay[]
Delulu is a weekends-only mode which can only be played with Proximity Voice Chat enabled, where companionship is assumed and betrayal is expected.
Matches start with 80 real players that descend upon a random location on the playable Island. As everyone will be joining the match solo, they can either eliminate any other players they encounter or form a Squad with them. Up to 4 players can be in a Squad, although larger alliances can be formed through communication and teamwork.
This mode's loot pool mostly consists of items that work well in teams as a way to encourage teamwork. To this effect, special Supply Crates and Locked Chests with high-tier loot spawn during gameplay, and they all require two or more players to open.
Players can join and leave parties through the use of Emotes, which will not trigger any party notifications. Thus, nobody will know when you intend to betray your Squad. Once the final 20 players have been established, a random number is selected that determines how many players can earn a Victory Royale.
Strategy[]
|
This section outlines a strategy. |
| Feel free to add tips, tricks and general advice about the topic. |
- Communication is the core to Delulu, whether it'd be with your squad or other players. Those who rarely communicate are more likely to attack you when you least expect it. As such, be sure to eliminate players that don't have an open mic.
- If you find a Supply Drop or a Chest that requires multiple players, you can still use Chickens to open them.
- The O.X.R. Rifle is the main long range of this mode. Pick it up when you can.
- Ammo can be tight on occasion in this mode, make sure to communicate to your team when you run low.
- Rifts of any kind, Launchpads, Shockwaves, and Grapplers will be necessary to rotate and get around. Be sure to get these items to everyone on your team.
- If players reveal they have a valuable item via mic, think about either teaming with them or taking them out.
- Lastly, Delulu is a mode with voice chat. USE IT. Get to know teammates play styles and skill to form strategies when you need them. You should almost never take out a teammate if you don’t have to.
