This article is about the Guards in Chapter 6: Season 1. For the Guards in Chapter 6: Season 3, see Kintsugi Demon Guards.

Guards[]

Demon Guards were neutral Guards in Fortnite: Battle Royale. They were introduced during Chapter 6: Season 1.

Description[]

Demon Guards are distinguished by rank. This determines what weapons they hold and what roles they play.

  • Grunts
    • Demon Grunts patrol with Demon Warriors in various areas around Oninoshima, typically near a Spirit World Portal. They will only shoot at the player if they either attack them, one of their Bosses, they block their path for too long, or they aim their weapon at them for too long. Demon Grunts also patrol with a Demon Lieutenant at Forecast Towers and some may even be found battling certain Characters. The Dark Demon Grunts always use Shotguns while the Light Demon Grunts wield Assault Weapons. Additionally if Shogun X is nearby, they will rally towards him if he is under attack despite not directly being under his command.

Trivia[]

  • The Demon Guards reuse the Latverian Guards' voice lines. With the high-pitch IO Guard voice being used by the Light Demon Guards, and the Wasteland Heavy Guard voice being used by the Dark Demon Guards.
    • However this does not include their Idle Response lines and the lines associated with their scrapped follower feature.
  • The Demon Guards can be found as an option in Creative's Guard Spawner. The Lieutenant/White Demon Grunt is named Demonic Grunt Light and the Black Demon Grunt is named Demonic Grunt Dark.
    • This marks the Demon Grunts as the first Guards to be added to the Guard Spawner in recent years.
    • Despite this, the Outfits themselves do not bear these names and are still called TBD in the Locker.
      • Demonic Grunt Light's Outfit ID is Character_RobedMentor_Cross_NPC.
      • Demonic Grunt Dark's Outfit ID is Character_RobedSledge_Cross_NPC.
  • Unlike the Wasteland Guards and Latverian Guards prior, the Demon Grunts do not have dialogue for provoking them by standing in their way or aiming a weapon at them for too long.
  • Much like the Forecast Tower Commanders and Wasteland Tactical Elites previously, the Demon Lieutenants are also slightly taller. This is not the case for other Demon Grunts that share the same appearance around Oninoshima who still have the same height as players and other Guards.
    • This makes the Demon Lieutenants, along with Night Rose's Shade the first Guards to be Slightly Taller and not be a Boss.
  • While doing the Stage 5 Kendo's Calling quest, Demon Guards will drop Fresh Essence.
