The Demons Warriors, also known as the Spirit Realm's dark forces or simply as the Spirit Realm, are an army of demonic entities from the Spirit Realm that first appeared in Chapter 6: Season 1. They were ruled by a powerful evil being who bound their leader, Shogun X, to its service.
They are a major organization of Fortnite, serving as the main antagonists of Fortnite: Battle Royale in Chapter 6: Season 1, Chapter 6: Season 3, Chapter 6: Season 4 and Chapter 6: Mini Season 2, the overarching antagonists of Chapter 6: Season 2 and the secondary antagonists of Galactic Battle. They were also the main antagonists of LEGO Fortnite:Expeditions and the secondary antagonists of LEGO Fortnite:Odyssey.
Overview[]
The Demons are an ancient threat to Oninoshima which first emerged long ago - sometime after the creation of the Masks of Power. They fought during the Shattering War, before being banished to the Spirit Realm thanks to Spirit Realm Portals.[1]
After the war, magic was banished from Oninoshima as well in order to avoid the reopening of Spirit Realm portals - however the demons managed to return ages later after a Zero Point Shard crashed on the Island, reawakening magic across Oninoshima and opening the portals to the Spirit Realm once more.
Demon Warriors are split between several sub-groups all obeying the Dark Presence :
Shogun X's forces[]
Shogun X's forces is an army of demonic samurai warriors serving as the predominant faction of the Spirit Realm. They're composed entirely of demonic warriors from the Spirit Realm trained by The Night Rose to be deadly and unstoppable. They are under the orders of Shogun X, the original ruler of the Spirit Realm, before his title was usurped by the Dark Presence. They can use magic, possess Masks of Power and were one of the main actors during the Shattering War. They were first introduced during Chapter 6: Season 1 and served as the main antagonists of the same season.
The Spires[]
The Spires are the forces led by Mask Maker Daigo, when he was made the Champion of the Dark Presence. They are an army of fearsome ancient Spires from the Spirit Realm endowed with sentience and linked to Dark Presence. They already came on Oninoshima in the distant past, as several of the them were uncovered and awakened by Daigo at the Spire Excavation Site. Masked demons forces known as the Spire Spawn[2] also strengthen their rank. They were first introduced during Chapter 6: Season 3 and served as the main antagonists of the same season and LEGO Fortnite:Expeditions.
The Swarm[]
The Swarm also known as the Bugs and the Onimorphs are an ancient species of giant demonic insectoid creatures from the Spirit Realm. They are the harbingers of the Dark Presence. The Swarm, like Shogun X's forces and the Spires, already appeared in the past, leading to the creation of the Onimorph eXtermination Rangers, who waited generations until their return. They were introduced in the aftermath of Super Showdown event and served as the main antagonists of Chapter 6: Season 4.

History[]
Centuries ago — The Shattering War[]

Many ages ago, the Demon Warriors played a role in the Shattering War - a conflict sparked by a Mask Maker from the Fox Clan, the ancestor of of Daigo, Jade, and Kendo[9] who misused Fox Clan's magical mask making process to create dangerous Masks of Power. The Masks in the hands of the Demons of the Spirit Realm threatened to destroy the Island, triggering a war between the River Guard,[10] the Fox Clan and the inhabitants of Oninoshima against the demons and their masks. The war culminated in Nightshift Forest at a site known as Battle's End, where the Demons were defeated, the Masks of Power were shattered, and magic was banished from the Island as a protective measure.

In the aftermath, the people of Oninoshima united to seal the Demons' portals, cutting off access to the Spirit Realm entirely. The Fox Clan was blamed for the Shattering War incident, as the masks had been crafted by their suppliers.[11]

Within the Spirit Realm, The Night Rose encountered Shogun X and they had a relationship of trust.[12] She trained's his army to make them powerful warriors,[13] but following the Dark Presence' mind control, Shogun X betrayed her and used a massive Oni Mask known as "The Puppeteer" to string her up and bind her to his service. Since that day, The Night Rose swore to obtain vengeance.
Chapter 6: Season 1[]

A shard of The Zero Point arrives onto Oninoshima, alongside strangers from the island of Helios. As a result of the shard's landing, magic has re-emerged, and the abandoned portals are reopened for the demons of old to return across Oninoshima[14] - including Shogun X, the Demon Warriors' leader.

Together, they threaten the Island dwellers, but in the process, gain resistance from Hope and Jones, whom have teamed up with the High Stakes Club,[15] alongside the reluctantly reunited forces of the River Guard and the Fox Clan.

Now that the Zero Point Shard has restored the magic of Oninoshima, the Shattering War begins to repeat itself - with Daigo determined to continue work on the magical masks of old through dark magic and his ownership of The Thousand Faces[16] to harness the power needed to enter the Demon Warriors' Spirit Realm for himself.[17]

Later, Kendo, one of Hope's new associates, enlists the help of The Looper to investigate the resurgence of demons on the Island. The Looper agrees and begins hunting the Demon Warriors.
They are soon contacted by Kendo's sister: Jade, who is also working with Hope. The latter seeks to learn more about the Island's magic. After helping her place Spirit Charms across the Island, The Looper collects demon essence to study their nature and delivers it to Hope. Hope reveals she is searching for an artifact akin to Pandora's Box,[18] stating she wasn't surprised by the island's current situation - suspecting it to be connected with the reawakening of Oninoshima's myths and ancient magic, as well as the demons.

Later, The Looper travels to Battle's End alone to investigate the return of magic. Sensing ancient magical resonance, they deduce it is connected to the demons, their rage, and the Spirit Realm. They conclude that something ancient and powerful is stirring the Island's magic.[19]

Sometime after, Kendo calls upon The Looper once more - reporting that Jade is missing.[20] He suspects their older brother: Daigo, is involved as Daigo has been experimenting with dark magic.[21] Kendo claims to have seen Jade through a portal but dismissed it as a hallucination. However, when The Looper looks through the portal, they also see her - and hear her mention a shard.[22]

Kendo sends The Looper to investigate Daigo's shop: The Thousand Faces, where they discover an underground hideout. Inside, they find various masks imbued with traces of dark magic, a painting of Daigo giving a mask to Jade, and a machine pulsing with dark energy.

They notably examine a Sprite cage, a worrying sight to The Looper,[23] as well as a broken Mask of Power from long ago - though Kendo warns The Looper that the mask should never be repaired, for both of them view the masks as dangerous[24] - thus Kendo stays away from using them, similarly to Mizuki.
Upon confronting Daigo, The Looper learns that Jade had actually been cursed by the demons, and that Daigo created a mask to protect her.[25] However, the mask amplified her powers, trapping her in the Spirit Realm. Despite his regrets, Daigo insists he made the mask to keep her safe.[26] Upon gathering all the information they could, The Looper reports their findings back to Kendo.

After sharing his suspicions about the artifact that Hope was seeking, Kendo tasked The Looper with investigating the comet. However, The Looper discovered that the comet had been stolen by demons. Continuing their investigation into the connection between the comet and the demons, The Looper and Kendo found a Splinter of the shard. Kendo instructed The Looper to deliver it to Hope, who then urged them to search for additional Splinters.

To gather clues about the other Splinters, The Looper consulted the Tanukis of Nightshift Forest. The Tanukis agreed to provide information if The Looper solved their riddles. After successfully completing the riddles, they led The Looper to a Splinter at the center of the forest.

Understanding the connection between demons and the Splinters, Hope asked The Looper to confront demon warriors to gather further clues. This led to the discovery of a map pointing to a third Splinter. Hope then realized that these fragments were actually pieces of The Zero Point and that they were crucial to saving Jade.

Kendo directed The Looper to Demon's Dojo to use the Spirit Forge and craft Blades imbued with the Splinters. However, uncertain about how to harness their power, Kendo suggested seeking assistance from The Night Rose. To gain access to her help, The Looper had to temporarily defeat The Puppeteer.

Once freed, The Night Rose revealed that she was bound by a powerful demon and needed permanent liberation to provide answers regarding the comet and the Spirit Realms. She recognized the potential of the Splinter Blades, judging them strong enough to free both her and Jade. Before departing, she entrusted the Splinter Blades to Daigo.

Hope later requested The Looper's assistance in locating the comet. Their investigation revealed that someone had moved it to the Frozen Spirit Realm portal. Kendo, pondering the portal site, revealed that this was part of Daigo's plan to rescue Jade and that he had received the Splinter Blades from The Night Rose. Kendo emphasized the importance of understanding the link between the Spirit Realm, the comet, and the demons.

Hope called upon The Looper once more, sharing her theory about the source of Shogun X's immense power. She requested The Looper to fight Shogun X and bring back part of his essence. After completing this mission, Hope, who had not learned about The Looper's past from Jones, revealed the truth—the comet was a fragment of The Zero Point. Though The Looper already knew this, it confirmed the artifact's pivotal role in their quest.

Daigo heads to the frozen Spirit Realm portal with the Splinter blades of The Zero Point granted to him by The Night Rose.[27] He begins his plans to free Jade from the Spirit Realm for good, determined to not let anybody stop him.[28]

Utilizing his chaos magic, Daigo sits upon a magical orb-like aura and activates one of his six powerful masks onto the portal, causing him to be able to feel its power.[29] However, an unidentified being, perhaps an illusion cast by something, tried to trick Daigo by taking the form of Jade, but failed.[30] During this time, Daigo talked with several persons, including Hope, telling her they're similar as well as Jones, asking him about his motivations. He also began to feel a Dark Presence in the spirit realm and asked The Night Rose what it was.

As Daigo's ritual progresses, he continues to be tormented by an entity taking the form of Jade. However, he refuses to be deceived by it. He warns his brother and The Looper about the Dark Presence lurking within the Spirit Realm, describing it as powerful and filled with malice. During a conversation with Jones, Daigo speaks about his motivations regarding the Shard, while also confiding in Hope about the immense pressure he feels from being "special." [31]

Later, the entity resembling Jade ceases its torment, but Daigo reveals to The Looper and Kendo that the Dark Presence has begun speaking to him. This mysterious being appears to know him, his family, and his entire bloodline. Through this revelation, Daigo comes to understand that Shogun X, who had previously bound The Night Rose, is himself bound to that dark force. [32]
Driven by pride, Daigo believes he alone is strong enough to face the darkness within the Spirit Realm, a conviction he shares with The Night Rose. [33] He later confesses to Hope that, as the eldest son and a genius, he feels responsible for fixing everything. In his ongoing discussion with Jones, he acknowledges the seductive power of the Shard and questions whether Jones is truly capable of resisting its influence, subtly revealing his own doubts about him. [34]
As the ritual nears its conclusion, Daigo shares his plan with Kendo and speaks about what he intends to do afterward. He then confides in Hope, expressing his sense of responsibility not just for his family but also for The Island, noting that she likely feels the same way. Turning to Jones, he challenges him, asking whether he will lock away the power of the Shard or use it for his own ends. In a conversation with The Night Rose, Daigo reflects on how, in another life, they might have been allies—or even friends. On the final day, Daigo speaks with Hope, questioning whether they will be friends or enemies in the near future. He then bluntly tells Jones that he does not trust him and refuses to let him near the Shard. Before the confrontation begins, he asks The Night Rose to watch over his siblings. Later, Daigo gifts The Looper magical items for battle, as his Chaos magic thrives on conflict.
The Confrontation Event[]
Armed with the Kintsugi Mask forged from the six other masks of the ritual, and the Splinter Blades crafted from the splinters of The Zero Point by The Looper and granted to him by The Night Rose, Daigo unfolds its magic in the the Spirit Realm portal to pull Jade back into the physical world. However, before he can succeed, Jade is violently dragged back into the Realm, and Shogun X emerges from the portal to stop him.
Shogun X seizes Daigo by the face, triggering the power of his mask, which causes both of them to grow into towering forms. Shogun X then brutally assaults Daigo, absorbing energy from those around him through his Void magic and the open Spirit Realm portal. Despite the overwhelming power difference, Daigo seizes an opening and strikes back.
A fierce battle of swordplay and magic unfolds, with Shogun X maintaining the upper hand. When Daigo abandons his blades and attempts to use his Explosive Screaming Masks, Shogun X skillfully dodges and lands a devastating slash, mortally wounding him. As Daigo struggles, Shogun X grabs him by the mask and begins absorbing energy once more, preparing to finish him. In a last, desperate move, Daigo fuses his Splinter Blades into one and slashes through Shogun X's arm, freeing himself. With a final, decisive strike, he cuts through his enemy, dealing a fatal blow. Shogun X's accumulated energy erupts in a violent explosion, tearing through the portal and sending a shockwave that blasts Daigo away. In the aftermath, the Spirit Realm portal glows gold, releasing waves of radiant energy. Freed from the Dark Presence, Jade finally escapes.
Jade is finally freed and immediately asks to see The Looper to discuss what comes next. She reveals that demons tried to break her but ultimately failed. However, she warns that the Dark Presence now possesses the Shard and has a plan. She expresses doubt that either of her brothers is strong enough to stop it, though she is particularly concerned for Daigo. She also reveals that the Dark Presence seeks to claim everyone—but especially Daigo—though she does not yet understand why. Meanwhile, The Night Rose is freed from her curse and begins considering training new warriors, just as she once did for Shogun X's army before he bound her. However, both she and Jade caution The Looper about the golden energy emerging from the portal, warning that it will bring greed, conflict, and chaos.
As Kendo celebrates Jade's return, he feels indebted to The Night Rose and asks how he can repay her. At the same time, the siblings attempt to convince Daigo that he has done enough, fearing that his reckless pursuit of his goal will lead to disaster. Kendo, for the first time, fully understands that Daigo is not just a frustrated genius—he is someone who has spent his life protecting his siblings at any cost. Elsewhere, Hope and Jones prepare for dark and dangerous times ahead now that the demons have the Shard. The Night Rose shares their concerns, while Jones, for now, chooses to trust her. On the side of the Demon Warriors, a new Shogun is elected to take the place of Shogun X. In a chilling display of loyalty, the new leader not only continues Shogun X's mission but also takes up his very name, ensuring his legacy of war endures. Just like his predecessor, he was empowered.

The Looper then reported everything to Hope, the latter noting they have to defeat the Spires, save Daigo, find a way into the Spirit Realm, before confronting the Dark Presence there.

As it turns out, studies breakthroughs on how the Spires operate were completed successfully, however, Hope and her team redacted some of the intel, for they feel as if Midas and his crew may be drawn to misusing their findings.
The Spires reveal themselves to be woven from the magic power of the Spirit Realm and tied to the Dark Presence, who seeks to use them to gain purchase in this world.

However, the latter managed to find temporary solace by entering the Fortress of Solitude. Kor sent a demon and one of her mercenaries, Centurion, to scout ahead, both were eliminated after Fishstick found Superman's Call Crystal, transforming his body into Superman and letting him take control, worrying Kor and her troops.[36] Upon the successful transformation, he attacked the remaining mercenaries and demons alongside Krypto, leaving Kor alone to face them, presumably fleeing the scene to regroup and formulate a new strategy.
Fall of the Supernova Academy & Graduation[]
Mask Maker Daigo and his army launched a surprise attack on the Academy, wrecking it without the Supernovas being able to save it, leaving behind glitched screens, blinking alarms, valuables thrown down, and the nature surrounding the Academy has withered away, leaving the entire Heroic team distraught. Hope became furious, and decided to abandon the rescue of Daigo.
Meanwhile, Daigo grew in power, changing his appearance and becoming more golden, while the portal cracks spread across the Demon's Domain. New gigantic spires also appeared at four points a few hundred meters around the domain, accentuating the corruption on the island, while in Reality: UN-85, the dormant spires were awakened and started to invade this world too.
The Super Showdown Event[]
Mask Maker Daigo performed his ritual, aiming to achieve what he viewed as his ultimate destiny and summoned his master before being violently discarded, the Supernovas emerged into Demon's Domain with Formation Tau, consisting of the Morgan Myst, Lightrider and Killswitch and Formation Theta, consisting of Synthwave, Ziggy and Haylee Skye. The Looper and Daigo's siblings, Jade and Kendo and the other allies were also present at the scene, ready to fight the creature.
The Dark Presence's tentacle then proceeded to attack the heroes, using energy blasts to destroy them all. But through strategic use of their superpowers that they learned to master from their instructors, they're able to weaken the demon with a general weakening then fatal blows dealt by Supernovas at three specific moments, first with Synthwave and her sonic pulses, followed by Killswitch and his barrage of bullets, before Morgan finished the job with her swarm of Ravens, causing the tentacle, severely weakened, to retreat back into the portal.
Thinking they've won, their guard drops, leaving an open space for three separate tentacles to emerge from the portal, stronger than ever. With their energy pulse, the tentacles lock everyone in the air, while two of them converged their power towards the third, ready to annihilate them all in a single blast. However, the team's hope returns as Superman intervenes, cutting the tentacle that was going to attack, leaving it crashing to the ground, stopping for a second to greet The Looper before using his laser beams on the second tentacle and hitting the third one to return both of them to the Spirit Realm. He then destroyed the Spires to close the portal for good and left.
Epilogue[]
The other Monolith Spires became inactive, and Jade and Kendo celebrate the return of their brother, restored to his previous form, though he's going to need help to get back up from Night Rose and the others after what happened to him. However, the cut-off tentacle outside of Demon's Domain remained alive for a time and prepared something, while the heroes know this isn't the end and that they must recover from The Shard. In the meantime, the Dark Presence tentacle's started to rot, boiling from the inside and to spread its blood in the ground. Surrounding the area, bug holes emerge from the wounds of the tentacle, which expel small, purple glowing bugs. Then, the gigantic Spires reactivated again.
Chapter 6: Season 4[]
Onimorphs started to emerge from the tentacle, at the same time, following the weakening of the membrane separating Oninoshima and the Spirit Realm, other Onimorphs from the Spirit Realm managed to invade the island through an access point that connects Oninoshima and the Spirit Realm, leading to the infestation.
Following the infestation, the O.X.R. came out of hiding in order to fight back the invasion. Several bases such as O.X.R. HQ, Swarmy Stash and a O.X.R.'s Weapon Lab were established. However, the last two fell due to the infestation and their Weapons Lab became Ranger's Ruin, one of the three nests of the swarm, the two other being The Hive and Demon's Debris where once stood Lonewolf Lair and Demon's Domain respectively.
Dystopia[]
Following in the footsteps of Mask Maker Daigo who once sought to destroy Utopia City, Demon's Debris's Queen assaulted the city and destroyed three-quarters of it before installing a new nest. Fortunately, O.X.R. and The Supernovas managed to protect a part of the city, which remains more or less intact and continues to resist the infestation the best they can. Long before the invasion, Midas had closed access to The Vault, ensuring its safety from the threats of the Spirit Realm.
In addition to the city, The Swarm continues to relentlessly attack the O.X.R. Bases Alpha, Epsilon and Theta, with several overruns and becoming completely infested, with their protectors (The Night Rose, Daigo, Jade, Kendo, Mizuki and Yoo-mi) imprisoned within stashes if not fighting.[37] Through outside assistance if not their own willpower, each of them breaks free and continues the fight against the infestation, attempting to restore their control over their respective bases.[38] Triggerfish, Meowscles, Cuddle Team Leader and Peely are also in the same situation.
Extermination Time![]
As O.X.R. campaign to exterminate The Swarm continues, their batallion struck fear into them and drove them into disarray. The Swarm's numbers has been decimated with over 1 Billion bugs squashed by the O.X.R.[39] and the remaining swarms scattered, completely disorganized and fleeing against O.X.R. advance. All infested and/or conquered outposts : O.X.R. Base Alpha, Epsilon and Theta were reclaimed and cleared out,[40] while the O.X.R. High Command decides to deploy the Showkwave Hammers in in order to eradicate The Swarm once and for all.
Egg-cellent Observations[]
As The Swarm begins to regain ground, invading Big Bend and creating a new nest Hive Hideaway, Hope asked The Looper to take out Swarmer Nests, to thin them out as much as they can. However, The Swarm appears to emerge directly from the Spirit Realm at an alarming rate and will soon overrun the Island. Seeking to know exactly how The Swarm came from, Hope asked The Looper to investigate its source, hoping to find the means The Swarm uses to get here from the Spirit Realm. Observing that the demonic energy is off the charts, The Looper decides to tune up sensors at Hope's request, thinking the nest must be close to their access point.
However, instead of discovering the access point, The Looper discovered some eggs with strange readings. Noting that the eggs were tainted with something, Hope asked The Looper to collect some and bring them to her to study them. She theorizes that the eggs are Queen eggs laid in the Spirit Realm and brought here, and that their energy signature could weaken the access point or even allow them to use the access point to their advantage to access the Spirit Realm without a portal. To confirm her theory, Hope sent The Looper to fight and destroy a Queen to retrieve data.
Megazord Rising[]
In order to help fight The Swarm, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers team intervened on the Island. Blue Ranger started to study the effectiveness of Precision Air Strike on The Swarm, Yellow Ranger started to use her Zord as transport to first aid, Black Ranger was training reinforcements, Pink Ranger was in aerial combat while Red Ranger was tied up fighting Queens. After getting some help from The Looper and other soldiers, they managed to assemble. However, before the Red Ranger could be summoned, Lord Zedd cursed Oninoshima and empowered The Storm. Then, when the Megazord was finally assembled, Rita Repulsa summoned a Queen and her army in an attempt to destroy it.
The Swarm's disappearance[]
With the power of the Dino Megazord, the O.X.R. finally turned the tide of the war against the Swarm. They reclaimed all their lost bases—including Ranger's Ruin and Swarmy Stash—and eradicated the remaining nests across the island after a final decisive battle at The Hive.[41]
With the Swarm believed to be defeated for good, the island entered a period of peace. This respite allowed the Supernovas to restore both the Supernova Academy and Utopia City. Meanwhile, the O.X.R. undertook extensive reconstruction efforts, rebuilding their ruined bases. Ranger's Ruin and Swarmy Stash were transformed into Ranger's Rest and Harmony Hills. The organization also terraformed the former large "Swarm" biome, replanting trees, rebuilding paths and roads, and converting what was once The Hive into Bugswatter Beach, a museum commemorating the war against the Swarm. On display at the museum is the Dino Megazord's Power Sword, serving as both a tribute and a reminder of the battle that saved the Island.
However, doubts soon began to surface regarding the Island's fragile peace. Hope and Jones prepared to confront the Dark Presence, mobilizing the O.X.R. assets, which had been placed under their command by General Onyx Winter. The general maintained that the Swarm could never truly be defeated as long as their master still existed. Lieutenant Ripp Slade warned that the peace was nothing more than the calm before the storm, while Doctor Theodore Flyesbee theorized that the Swarm would not vanish on its own—unless something "much higher in the food chain" was approaching.
Afterward, a summit was held between the Island's leaders and allies to establish a definitive strategy for counterattacking the Spirit Realm and the Dark Presence.[42]
The Anomaly[]
However, a mysterious anomaly taking the form of a tree appeared on the northwestern corner of Oninoshima, eventually growing into a large tree outfitted with a treehouse. Over time, a mysterious dark aura appeared over the treehouse, progressively worsening the instabilities of the veil separating the Island from the Spirit Realm.
While Hope sent The Looper to study the anomaly, she and Jones prepared a countermeasure to permanently seal the portals prior to their planned invasion of the Spirit Realm, with Jones enhancing his Portal Device to do so. When the instabilities reached their critical point, Hope and Jones rifted to a control center that had been set up nearby and proceeded to seal the breach and prevent the Dark Presence from invading the Island. The portal was closed for a moment before reopening into a larger portal that allowed the demonic creature to cross over.
As a battle erupts, Kang and Kodos are captivated by the sight of the Dark Presence as they hope to find a reproductive mate. They abduct Hope and Jones to gain the demon's favor, but Hope overpowers them and gains control of their saucer to attack the Dark Presence. Her attack is parried and the saucer is thrown into an inter-reality wormhole, but Jones notices the Zero Point Shard in the Dark Presence's chest, and Hope is able to use the tractor beam to steal a piece of it and take it into the wormhole.
