Storm Shield Endurance or Endurance is an objective mission in Fortnite: Save the World that was introduced in Update v9.30. It can be unlocked in all four Base Game Locations after completing the 10th Storm Shield Defense in each.

Overview[]

Endurance is a 30-wave long defense mission that requires players to repeatedly defend the Storm Shield and its Amplifiers. If the Storm Shield or any Amplifier is destroyed at any point during the defense, the mission ends. Each wave becomes progressively harder, featuring a mix of different enemy types in increasing numbers. The preparation time between each wave decreases, but the wave lengths gradually increase, starting from 2 minutes 30 seconds on Wave 1, to 6 minutes per wave by the end. Certain waves have a pre-determined elemental spawn, while some others feature select Wargames Modifiers like Torn Apart, Space Rocks, Invasion, etc.

Terminology[]

  • Flex refers to the last Amplifier in a Storm Shield that you have a choice for, when placing. The excess/remaining Amplifiers won't be placeable, hence won't get attacked.
    • Example: Stonewood has 3 choices when placing the last and east-most Amplifier. Whichever Amplifier you placed will be your Flex Amplifier.
  • Certain waves during an Endurance Defense can be Random, meaning that any Amplifier or the Storm Shield itself may be attacked from any of the valid spawn directions.

Stonewood[]

Stonewood has 4 Amplifiers and has the easiest Endurance Defense out of all four. The defense begins with Power Level 17 Husks and rises to Power Level 33 by the final wave. The Power Level increases significantly if there are more players in the mission.

Plankerton[]

Plankerton has 5 Amplifiers and has an Endurance Defense harder than Stonewood's, but easier than the rest. The defense begins with Power Level 41 Husks and rises to Power Level 62 by Wave 7. The Power Level increases significantly if there are more players in the mission.

Canny Valley[]

Canny Valley has 4 Amplifiers and has the second hardest Endurance Defense. The defense begins with Power Level 69 Husks and rises to Power Level 112 by the final wave. The Power Level increases significantly if there are more players in the mission. Building for Canny Valley Endurance Defense might be tricky since the natural terrain and elevation around the entire zone creates for interesting spawns with harder tunnels to build, with blockades being more essential and critical.

Twine Peaks[]

Twine Peaks has 9 Amplifiers and has the hardest Endurance Defense. The defense begins with Power Level 127 Husks and rises to Power Level 410 by the final wave. The Power Level increases significantly if there are more players in the mission. Building for Twine Peaks Endurance Defense is significantly harder since there are more amplifiers with multiple directions to build for. Natural hazards such as Lava Bombs are also introduced which have to be accounted for, as they will severely destroy your tunnels. The Building Limit is much easier to reach, and can be tricky to work around.

Lobbers, Sploders, Smashers, Flingers and Mini-Bosses pose a greater threat to tunnels and are the most common cause for unsuccessful attempts.
