The Evochrome Burst Rifle is an Assault Weapon in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It was introduced in Chapter 3: Season 4.
Functionality[]
The EvoChrome Burst Rifle is a fully automatic burst firing weapon. When players deal damage to opponents or wildlife, the EvoChrome Burst Rifle can evolve when the player reaches the threshold. Pressing reload will reload the weapon and evolve it to the next rarity. Each evolution increases the weapons stats, and increases the number of shots in each burst, to an extent.
Players cannot evolve the weapon without enough ammo to reload it.

- The EvoChrome Burst Rifle can be upgraded by hunting wildlife. Boars, Chickens, and Wolves are usually best for this.
- The EvoChrome Burst Rifle deals increased damage to structures, making it a powerful weapon for removing an opponent's cover.
- The EvoChrome Burst Rifle has poor accuracy after three or four bursts. At longer ranges, allow the accuracy to reset after two or three bursts to get the most out of this weapon.
- The hip-firing accuracy of the EvoChrome Burst Rifle is good, making it a solid replacement for an SMG in a pinch.
- Do not challenge players wielding Sniper Rifles, as they can instantly eliminate the player with a single well-placed shot while attempting to whittle away at their health one burst at a time. Instead, close the gap between the enemy by placing some structures to get within a range where sniping isn't nearly as practical.
- At long range, the EvoChrome Burst Rifle will usually miss its second, third, and fourth rounds in its bursts. Stick to close and medium ranges for its best accuracy.
- When using the three or four-round burst versions, you can get an opponent's structure to very low HP before firing the EvoChrome Burst Rifle. If you're accurate, the first and second shots will destroy the structure while the third or fourth will pierce through and hit the opponent, even while turbo-building.
- As the EvoChrome Burst Rifle fires in bursts, it can be advantageous at long ranges to peak, fire a burst, and then hide once more while you wait for this weapon to be ready to fire again.

Trivia[]
- The EvoChrome Burst Rifle is unique in that it is the only weapon to deal less damage per shot as its rarity increases. This is because the weapon fires in quicker bursts, with its overall DPS increasing regardless.
- Secondly, the weapon's DPS stats are misleading, as the Rare version has a higher DPS than the Epic version, but this is because it is averaged per second. Per burst, the Epic deals 88 with the Rare dealing 69. As such, the weapon is more powerful with a rarity increase as long as players hit every shot from each burst.
- The EvoChrome Burst Rifle becomes more and more visually Chrome as the weapon evolves.
- After the rework of the Burst Assault Rifle, The Rare EvoChrome Burst Rifle was the only weapon in the game to have a 3 round burst up until Chapter 4: Season OG where the rework to the Burst Assault Rifle was reverted. As of Chapter 5: Season 1, the Thunder Burst SMG is another weapon with a 3 round burst.
