Fall damage is a mechanic in Fortnite: Save the World]], Fortnite: Battle Royale and Fortnite: Creative. It is a type of self-inflicting damage.
Save the World[]
Patch 3.5 (April 11, 2018)
- Save the World:Falling Damage has been adjusted so that damage occurs at higher heights.
- Players now first take damage after falling 1300+ units instead of falling 850 Units
- (Example) You can now walk off a 3 story building, but you can’t jump off.
- Initial fall damage increased from 5% max HP to 10% max HP.
- Next Damage Threshold is now 20% max HP at 3 tiles.
- Next Damage Threshold is now 50% max HP at 3.75 tiles.
- Next Damage Threshold is now Knockdown at 4.5 tiles.
- Farther than 4.5 tiles will also result in Knockdown.
- Enemy fall damage values have been adjusted to be in line with these changes.
- Players now first take damage after falling 1300+ units instead of falling 850 Units

Battle Royale[]
Functionality[]
Fall damage is a form of self damage when a player falls from a great height and lands on solid ground. When taking fall damage, it deals HP damage regardless of the amount of Shield. Fall damage starts at about 15 meters high (about 4 builds high) and deals at minimum 10 HP damage. It can eliminate a player at full health at about 30 meters.
When a player lands on water, Bouncer, Launch Pad, Crash Pad, or the top of an umbrella, no fall damage is taken.
Limited Time Modes with fall damage disabled are One Shot and Lazar & Fresh’s Super Knockback. Fall damage can be enabled or disabled in Creative.
Items that negate fall damage[]
These items launch a player into the air, but does not take fall damage when landing (excluding items that allow Glider redeploy):
