Abduction was a gameplay mechanic in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It was added late Chapter 2: Season 6, alongside the Foreshadowing Quests for Chapter 2: Season 7.

Abduction refers to an event in which a player is caught in a tractor beam by an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO). As this happens, the player does a unique animation in which they are taken up to the UFO. Immediately after this, the player will be teleported to a random place on the map with full shield and HP at the same time. This beam can hold up to twenty players, with the UFO in question being a bright light, rather than an actual object.
Abductions could occur at any location on the Apollo island, but it was possible to get it to occur repetitively at Risky Reels in custom matches. The frequency of abductions increased as Chapter 2: Season 7 approached.
