First-Person is a camera perspective in Video Games where the camera is directly on the player character instead of behind as in third-person. While Fortnite is played in third-person by default, there are some instances where it is in first-person.

Fortnite: Ballistic[]

Fortnite: Ballistic is the first core gamemode played entirely in first-person (excluding emoting). It's the first instance of proper first-person with fully animated actions in Fortnite. It's also the first instance of items working properly in first-person.

Battle Royale[]

Live Events[]

In Live Events, there are some parts that switch the player into first-person mode. Below are the events:

Trivia[]

  • In The Device event, there was a glitch that allowed the player to stay in first-person mode even after the event.

Creative and UEFN[]

First Person Camera Device[]

First-Person Mode is available in Creative and UEFN in the form of the First Person Camera Device. It is currently an experimental feature.

Immersive Editing[]

First-Person Mode in Creative is also available when editing an island, this mode is known as Immersive Editing, and can be selected from the Quick Options menu.

Trivia[]

  • There is a glitch that allows the player to go into first-person mode in Creative.

Save the World[]

This page is about an item or mechanic that has been removed from the game.

First-Person Camera mode was removed from Save the World with the Update v28.10 on January 23rd 2024.

Players could switch between first-person and third-person cameras in the Game Settings before and during a mission. When in first-person mode, the player's character model and the held weapon/item are not shown.

Weapons that have a scope, such as most Sniper Rifles, are always in first-person view when aiming down sights.
