First-Person is a camera perspective in Video Games where the camera is directly on the player character instead of behind as in third-person. While Fortnite is played in third-person by default, there are some instances where it is in first-person.
Fortnite: Ballistic[]
Fortnite: Ballistic is the first core gamemode played entirely in first-person (excluding emoting). It's the first instance of proper first-person with fully animated actions in Fortnite. It's also the first instance of items working properly in first-person.

Live Events[]
In Live Events, there are some parts that switch the player into first-person mode. Below are the events:
- The Device: When the player is in The Bridge.
- The Devourer of Worlds: When entering the upgraded Battle Bus in The In-Between.
- Collision: When operating the Mecha Strike Commander.

- In The Device event, there was a glitch that allowed the player to stay in first-person mode even after the event.
Creative and UEFN[]
First Person Camera Device[]
First-Person Mode is available in Creative and UEFN in the form of the First Person Camera Device. It is currently an experimental feature.
Immersive Editing[]
First-Person Mode in Creative is also available when editing an island, this mode is known as Immersive Editing, and can be selected from the Quick Options menu.

Save the World[]

First-Person Camera mode was removed from Save the World with the Update v28.10 on January 23rd 2024.
Players could switch between first-person and third-person cameras in the Game Settings before and during a mission. When in first-person mode, the player's character model and the held weapon/item are not shown.
Weapons that have a scope, such as most Sniper Rifles, are always in first-person view when aiming down sights.
