Floor is Lava is a Limited Time Mode in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It was introduced in Update v8.20.
LTM Rules and Gameplay[]
In this LTM, lava will begin to rise 5 minutes into the match, which gives players a limited amount of time to gather loot and materials. The lava will keep moving throughout the match at a steady speed until the entirety of the island is covered. Touching the lava will deal 20 damage to your health, however it is possible to build on the lava. Players will be given a small amount of materials every second, as building is the only method of escaping the lava.

In this LTM, you will have to focus on loot straight away, and gather materials as well if you have time. When the lava rises, it is ideal to start building at a high level of terrain.
