This article is about consumables, which include Apples. For the Jam Track, see Apple (Jam Track). |
Foraged Items are a subclass of Consumable items in Fortnite: Battle Royale. They were introduced in Season 4.
Description[]
Foraged Items have a variety of uses, but are mainly used to increase the player's HP. Other items will apply to the player temporary movement effects (for example, Pepper Effect). Foraged items can be consumed off the ground without picking them up, and some can be stored in the inventory for later usage.
Foraged items are consumed by either pressing the Interact button whilst they are on the ground, or the attack button when stored in the inventory. Foraged Items stored in the inventory can be thrown to other players by holding the aim button. This will mark them for squad members upon landing.

Strategy Guide[]
- Foraged Items that can be stored in the inventory can act as a substitute for a Medkit, or Shield Potions. Carrying 10 Cabbages, or 10 Mushrooms can provide the same amount of healing as one of each of the aforementioned items. Furthermore, most foraged items stack to 15, meaning you can carry more healing with a full stack of Foraged Items, than a single Medkit or Shield Potion.
- These items can also provide less healing at quicker intervals. This means if you have lost only 15 Health, you can consume the correct amount of foraged items to heal up, rather than wasting the extra 85 or 35 health from a Medkit or Shield Potion.
- Items such as Peppers should be consumed no matter what, as the boost they provide will last a decent amount of time. As such, consuming any peppers found will provide a boost to the player with no cost to inventory space. The same applies to any items which provide low gravity or other boosts.
- The speed you get from consuming one pepper is the same speed you get from consuming two or more peppers. Don't consume another pepper until the effect of the first pepper wears off because they don't stack in time.

Trivia[]
- Bananas do not grow on Palm Trees in real life. It is common misconception in various media that they do, and such is repeated in game. In reality, Bananas grow on much smaller trees.
- Some players erroneously refer to Cabbages as 'Lettuce' due the fact both vegetables look very similar.
- On top of this, it makes much more sense for the player to be consuming Lettuce than Cabbage, as Lettuce is often eaten raw.
- Slurp Mushrooms are referred to as Slurpshrooms when pinged from a Fortnite: Creative Prop Gallery.
- Similarly, Apples use their old icon when made from a Prop Gallery.
- A bug prevents the player from consuming foraged items which heal both Health and Shield at full health, despite being able to heal both Health and Shield. For example, if a player has 80 Health, but 100 Shield, they cannot consume a Coconut, despite it being able to increase their Health to 85.
- This bug was patched at some point during Chapter 2: Season 7.
- According to leaks from mid-Season 4, the Pepper consumable was originally going to be a bottle of Hot Sauce, with the same speed effect. The bottle that was meant to be used for the Hot Sauce consumable can be found in one of Fortnite: Creative's prop galleries.
- You could easily produce a Mythic Mushroom in Creative by spawning mushrooms until one appears, and then copy pasting the Mythic one repeatedly.
- Like Slurpfish, Slurp Mushrooms appear to be the product of a toxic Slurp waste seeping into the swamp, turning existing mushrooms into Slurp Mushrooms.
- The concept of it raining tacos at Greasy Grove references the 2012 viral song / video It's Raining Tacos.
- Lil' Whip's Special Serve is the first foraged item to be of Legendary rarity.
- When consuming multiple foraged items that heal over time, the player will always gain the total amount, no matter how fast they are consumed.
- In previous versions of the game, consuming heal over time foraged items too fast would reset the timer, meaning that players would be healed less than the total maximum healing of the items.
