The Fortnite x NBA Team Battles is part of the Community Battles series in Fortnite: Battle Royale for The Crossover Event. It began on May 19th 2021 and is set to finish on May 23rd 2021.
It grants players the chance to earn some free V-Bucks and in-game rewards through belonging to a high placing team, as well for completing all Challenge Tasks.
In this series of Community Battles, players choose between 30 NBA Teams. These teams have a maximum player amount of 15,000 players each.
After choosing a Team at https://nbateambattles.fortnite.com, Players will then be presented with a daily challenge on each day. Additionally, from May 22nd, 2021, repeatable tasks will be available where players earn points for the team every time they complete it.
The top three Teams who receive the most points earn the more exclusive rewards.

Each day of this Community Battles series, 1 Daily Challenge Task is given for players. If they complete them, they earn 1,000 points for their team.
Additionally, from May 22nd, 2021, "Repeatable Tasks" can be completed to earn a certain amount of points everytime a challenge is completed.

Only the top performing Team will receive all rewards (This Team's fans will also receive half of the top rewards). The higher a Team is in the Top 3, the more V-Bucks they receive.
Otherwise, players can only receive smaller rewards by completing all/some of the Challenge Tasks (listed above).
