Glider Redeploy is a game mechanic in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It was first implemented in Season 5.

As of Chapter 4: Season 4, it is available in standard modes if the Aerialist Augment is active. It is also available in Team Rumble by default and originally in Soaring 50's.

Functionality[]

Glider Redeploy refers to the ability to enable the player's glider after falling a significant amount of height. This negates fall damage, and can be used to traverse long distances, at a faster speed than sprinting. This is achieved by pressing the jump button whilst in the air.

In a standard game of Battle Royale, Glider Redeploy is off, meaning that a player falling a significant distance will not be able to deploy their glider and float down to safety, instead taking fall damage and potentially being eliminated.

Depending on the game mode, Glider Redeploy may or may not be enabled. On top of this, some items and vehicles allow the use of glider redeploy.

Strategy Guide[]

Calculated - Emote - Fortnite This section outlines a strategy.
Feel free to add tips, tricks and general advice about the topic.
  • Glider redeploy can be crucial to saving your life if you fall from a great height. Redeploying can result in no fall damage taken.
  • Using items such as Shockwave Grenades, Impulse Grenades or Bouncers can give you enough height that you can redeploy your glider and gain significant distance.
  • Building a large ramp can be an effective way to traverse long distances with Glider Redeploy, as it gives you enough height to glide to a location.

History[]

Season 5[]

Season 6[]

Season 7[]

  • Update v7.00: Disabled Glider Redeploy for all modes.
  • Update v7.20: Gliders added as an item, marking the end of Glider Redeploy being a mechanic in standard modes.

  • Update v23.00: The Aerialist Augment has been introduced, allowing players to redeploy their glider if it is active.

Trivia[]

  • Glider Redeploy can only be achieved with a Jetpack when the Jetpack is exhausted of fuel. If it is not, the player will use the Jetpack instead.
  • Glider Redeploy takes priority over Crash Pads, being used first when the jump button is pressed in the air.
  • If a player has Frozen Feet before initiating a redeploy, they will be continuously moving forward, without player input, until the effect wears off.
