The Harpoon Gun is a Ranged Consumable in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It was introduced in Chapter 2: Season 1.
Functionality[]
The Harpoon Gun is a short ranged weapon that is used both for attacking opponents, Fishing, and pulling loot and items towards the user. Attacking an opponent with the Harpoon Gun will pull them towards the player. Using a Harpoon Gun on a structure will also deal high amounts of damage to it.
A Harpoon Gun can be used at a Fishing Hole to quickly obtain fish or other items dropped from the hole. Missing a shot with the Harpoon Gun will not use any ammo. When all 10 charges have been depleted, the item will disappear from the players inventory.

The Harpoon Gun uses Hooks, which cannot be obtained outside of the weapon's reserve and has no headshot multiplier.

- The Harpoon Gun can be used to quickly destroy a structure and then switch back to another weapon, due to its high structure damage per second.
- It deals enough damage to one shot a full built wooden wall.
- The Harpoon Gun can be used to easily obtain fish and potentially even mid fight, as it will instantly obtain an item from a fishing hole when used on one.
- The Harpoon Gun can be used to deal damage to an enemy player by pulling them off a high structure, or be used to pull a knocked opponent close to you to easier obtain their loot.
- The Harpoon Gun can be used to pull a player out of a Vehicle, allowing you to shoot the player. Pulling a player out of a Choppa will cause them to receive fall damage.
- When damaging other players, if you jump directly after shooting with the Harpoon Gun, it'll generally hit them at the hill of your jump, pulling the opponent further, and faster toward you. This is also useful for getting knocked teammates for revives.
- The Harpoon Gun does not use charges when picking up items, with this in mind, you can use it to get items that are in high tick storms in late game much easier.
