Safe - Container - Fortnite
This page is about an item or mechanic that is currently vaulted.
It has been made unavailable to balance the loot pool, and may return in the future.

Holo-Chests are a type of Container in Fortnite: Battle Royale. They were introduced in Chapter 3: Season 4.

Functionality[]

Holo-Chests are unique in that they display the loot that they will dispense before being opened, and drop only that loot alongside Ammo if a weapon is present. Holo-Chests will display a hologram of the weapon inside above it, with a color indicating its rarity.

Holo-Chests must be opened with Keys and will take 1 Key for an Epic or Legendary Weapon, and 2 Keys for an Exotic Weapon or Item. Holo-Chests which dispense an Exotic item are visually larger than their standard counterpart.

Loot Table[]

Holo-Chests will drop any Epic or Legendary Weapon currently in the Loot Pool, or some Rare Healing items like Chug Splashes and Shield Fish in large stacks, and will not drop Utility Items or other Ranged Weapons. Holo-Chests for Exotic loot will only drop Exotic items which can be purchased from vendors on the island, or obtained via a Malfunctioning Vending Machine. Holo-Chests for Exotic loot can provide 6 Chili Chug Splash, making it the only item present in the Exotic table to not be a weapon.[Chili Chug Splashes may not be in the current version's holo chests]

Holo-Chests will drop Ammo for the weapon, if they provide a weapon at all.

History[]

Each season the loot table of Chests are adjusted. This has not been included.

Chapter 4: Season OG[]

Trivia[]

  • Holo-Chests are the first containers to show the player what loot it will be dropping.
    • They are not the first container to be predictable however, as many containers in the past have only dropped specific items.
