The Horde Bash was a Fortnite: Save the World event that went live on October 5, 2017 where players built and defended multiple objectives/forts to get a chance to earn Scavenger Heroes and weapons.
Objective[]
Players were given unlimited time to set up defenses for their fort, but at the cost of limited resources. Once completed, the player can invite up to 3 friends along with their built fort. Once everyone in the party is loaded in, all of their defenses are loaded into one, single, large, and spacious environment. Each wave a random party member's fort will be attacked. In order to complete a wave, the team must either defend the objective for a specific amount of time, or kill the required amount of enemies before they tear down a member's fort. The more waves a player's squad completes, the better rewards and resources their team gets.

Normal[]
Normal waves consist of Husks, Husky Husks, Pitchers, Beehives, and Lobbers, with the occasional Mist Monster and Shielder.
Lobber[]
Lobber waves have more lobbers than usual, destroying weak bases.
Smasher[]
Smasher waves contain many more smashers than normal, and multiple can spawn at the same time.
