Howler Claws are a Mythic Uncategorized Item in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It was introduced in Chapter 3: Season 4 for Fortnitemares 2022.
Functionality[]
Howler Claws are Melee based and allow the player to swing in a small radius around them to deal damage. Players can press the jump button twice to dash forwards, which costs 20% of the player’s stamina. You can also press the attack button to slash in the air. Pressing the aim button allows players to mark opponents in a radius around them for an extended period of time. Players can only hold one Howler Claws at a time.
Howler Claws function similar to Wolverine's Claws with an added recon ability.

Howler Claws deal 35 damage per swing and can attack roughly once per second. Players can use the recon ability every 20 seconds, and the ability is used instantly upon obtaining them via the Alternation Altar.

Obtained[]
Howler Claws are obtained by emoting for a short time at an Alteration Altar. After the time is up, the player is automatically given the Howler Claws.

Chapter 3: Season 4[]
- Update v22.20: Introduced the Howler Claws in Mythic rarity.
- October 22nd, 2022: The Alteration Altars and Howler Claws were disabled as they caused the player to become invincible when using them.
- October 24th 2022: Howler Claws and Alternation Altars re-enabled.
- Update v22.30: Vaulted the Howler Claws because Fortnitemares 2022 ended.

- Players gain a unique head cosmetic when the item is in their inventory.
- The emote that is done to obtain the Howler Claws is Clean Groove, but it has different music.
- Unlike a Recon Scanner or Shakedown, players are not marked with an icon above their head, but with a purple mist.
