Bus Bounce - Emoticon - Fortnite
This article is about an Event, Mode or Item available for a Limited Time only.

You wake up alone and unarmed along the coast of an island, with no memory of how you arrived. Quickly search for weapons and ammunition before night falls and creatures begin to roam the hillsides, hunting for prey. Keep an eye out for other stranded people -- they may prove to be invaluable allies in your fight to stay alive on the increasingly hostile island. Along the way, search for parts that can be used to repair one of the downed helicopters that are near the island’s center. If you find the correct parts and have enough fuel, you may be able to complete the Impossible Escape!
— In-Game Description

Impossible Escape! is a Limited Time Mode in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It was introduced in Chapter 2: Season 6. It comes in two versions, PvE (Player versus Environment) and PvP (Player versus Player).

Description[]

Players must work together to rebuild and repair a Choppa. This Choppa requires several parts to fix, which are scattered across the Island. The Map itself is covered in fog and can only be shown when the player visits an area, or reaches the top of a Guardian Tower (marked by a pair of binoculars). Parts are located by speaking with special Characters named Huntmasters. They will locate parts for players in exchange for a Raptor Claw.

As the game progresses, the day will end and the Island will darken as usual. During this time, many Hostile AIs, such as Wolves and Shadows (referred to as Daybreak Ghosts) will spawn to attack players. After the day ends, the Daybreak Ghosts will disappear and the Wolves will remain. These AIs will not respawn until the next night. When The Storm closes in, Marauders (referred to as Daybreak Marauders) wearing the Dark Voyager Outfit will spawn to attack players.

The broken Choppa and the Choppa parts will be guarded by Guards. These are Hostile AIs who take the form of either Kitbash or Rust Lord. Eliminating all of one group of these AIs will eliminate them all. They can also be Shakendown.

When picked up, these parts will be held over the head like a Propane Tank but can be stored in the inventory. They take up three slots in the inventory, and so only one can be carried per player. The part is attached to the Choppa with the interact button or key, and once all parts are attached, the Choppa will need refueling, and it can be flown to the exfil location. Achieving this grants players a Victory Royale.

Rules[]

Impossible Escape! has two versions, PvE and PvP:

Both Versions:[]

  • There are 16 players that start the match Solo. Squads are formed during the match, by using the High Five synced Emote near another player (this Emote is given to all players for this mode only). Doing this will add them to your Squad, which is a maximum of 4 players. Attempting to merge a Squad resulting in a number greater than 4 is not possible.
  • It is also possible for players to leave their respective Squad by using the Peace Out Emote.
  • Players spawn on the outskirts of the Island, at a random location. They do not spawn from a Battle Bus.
    • Sometimes, players will spawn near The Spire.
  • Altered Loot Pool consisting of Vaulted Items such as the Crash Pad, Port-A-Fortress, and Rift-to-Go.
  • Standard Gravity.
  • Standard HP Rules.
  • Respawns are not enabled, players must be revived.
  • Glider Redeploy is disabled. Gliders are present, alongside other methods of redeploy.
  • Reboot Vans and Reboot Cards are disabled.
  • Characters and Bars are enabled.
  • The Storm Circle will only begin to move 15 minutes into the match.
  • Victory Royale is obtained by completing a Choppa exfil.

PvE[]

  • Players cannot damage other players.
  • There are three escape Choppas on the Island. The mode will only end once the timer runs out, or all players are eliminated or exfil.

PvP[]

  • Players can damage other players.
  • There is only one escape Choppa on the Island. The mode will end when the Choppa has successfully exfilled.

Strategy Guide[]

Calculated - Emote - Fortnite
This section outlines a strategy.
Feel free to add tips, tricks and general advice about the topic.
  • During Dusk, it is recommended that you stay indoors or on the roof of a building with indestructible walls and no stairs/floors leading directly up to the roof, from all the dangers if you don't have anything to defend you.
  • Choppa parts take up three inventory slots, so select your loadout wisely.
  • Hunt as many Animals as you can, Healing Items are scarce (mostly only being forage-able food), and their Meat drop in quantities of 1-3.
  • Guards are scattered all around the Island, keep your distance from them at all times.
  • It is recommended to talk to Huntmasters so you can locate all the Choppa parts.
