The Islander Prevalent is a vehicle in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It was introduced in Chapter 2: Season 3.
Description[]
The Prevalent is an urban sedan. As such, it has 4 tires and 4 seats, as well as 4 windows, a windshield and a rear windshield. It's a car of average speed with standard fuel consumption, but it suffers greatly on unsuited terrain and goes much faster on road.
The Prevalent has a decent drifting, but it's only useful at high velocities, otherwise the vehicle won't be able to quickly turn, unlike the Whiplash or the Nitro Drifter. It features no kind of boost and all its variants have 800HP. Once the health bar has been emptied, the vehicle will enter a death state and then explode, turning into a wreckage and starting a fire. If damaged, its glass panels, tires or health bar can be restored through a Repair Torch, Campfires or Chrome.
Like all cars, it can connect to Radio Stations and play a honk, and is moddable with vehicle mods.
Variants[]
The Prevalent has 3 variations.
Name | Icon | Found | Differences |
---|---|---|---|
Prevalent GG2020 | Everywhere | Drastically improved handling. Can drift in place like the Whiplash or the Nitro Fang, although not as sharply. | |
Taxi Prevalent | Everywhere | Unique model. | |

Trivia[]
- When significantly damaged, the Prevalent will lose the lock on its trunk, causing it to flap around.
- Prior to its inclusion as a drivable vehicle, the Prevalent was used for most car props on the Chapter 2 map. Included as one of these props was a police car, which was removed around May of 2020, in line with controversy surrounding police brutality which prompted the model's removal. Consequentially, the drivable model for the police Prevalent was completely scrapped.
- The center dashboard had a screen taken from a Garmin dedicated car GPS.
- The Nitro Drifter features the same interior as the Prevalent, but the screen shows a 1980s synthwave video.
- The Message Feed when eliminating a player with a Prevalent is shown as "eliminated with a Sedan", referring to the Prevalent's body style instead of the model as in other cars.
