- The dance is partially based off of choreography by Kyle Hanagami for Charlie Puth's song How Long.[1]
- In 2022, Kyle Hanagami sued Epic Games in the Central District of California over the use of his choreography.[2] This may mean that the emote may or may not reappear in the Item Shop, like other emotes that have had lawsuits associated with them.
- Despite the lawsuit, It's Complicated returned via a code included with the Peely PowerA Wired Earbuds for Nintendo Switch, but has yet to reappear in the Item Shop.
