- — Jade
Jade is the guardian of Sprites and Oninoshima. She is one of the primary targets of the Demon Warriors.
She is the younger sister of Kendo and Daigo, and a descendant of The Thousand Faces family which served as the main cause of the Shattering War within Oninoshima.
Jade is a supporting character of Chapter 6: Season 1.
Personality[]
Jade is described as reckless but brilliant — a whirlwind of energy and insight burdened by a duty she puts on herself; a person who knows all the secrets of Oninoshima.
According to the song Break The Curse, Jade sees herself and her siblings as the strongest, unbreakable force, and as protectors of peace. Jade likes to reward herself with sushi and bread every once in a while.
Appearance[]
Jade is a young-looking woman with cyan hair and eyes. Her outfit is a blend of casual wear and Japanese-inspired samurai armor, featuring the sode of Protector Kaito and a modernized Sprite Shrine pattern. A small badge of The Thousand Faces adorns her clothing. As the guardian of the Sprites, Jade's hair is light pink while her eyes retain their standard color. When cursed by the Demon Warriors, her hair is a fluorescent pink, her eyes closely matching in more of a neon shade while her pupils are a contrasting blue.

History[]
Chapter 6: Season 1[]
Jade, alongside her brother Kendo, initally stationed in Nightshift Forest admist the arrival of the Zero Point shard on Oninoshima, interacting with those new and old to the island. They would eventually meet Hope, and begin to form an alliance of Demon Hunters with her. During her time in the forest, Jade was also able to reconnect with her childhood friend: Helsie.[1][2]
Although Jade too clashed with the contrasting beliefs of her brothers Kendo and Daigo, she appeared to remain mostly neutral between the two in order to pursue her own goal: a desire to keep the island in balance due to its special attriubes—such as the reawakened magic and Sprites residing within it. Oninoshima's unique qualities also brewed her want to explore every corner of it, even with the looming threat of the Demon Warriors, and despite some of them directly stalking her.[3]
Upon meeting The Looper, Jade asks if they can bring her a Sprite to observe up close, fascinated with their link to Oninoshima's energy.[4] After The Looper does so, Jade transforms into her Guardian form, uncovering her deep connection to the Sprites and sparking her potential.[5]
During the Chapter 6: Season 1 Story Quests, Jade briefly guides The Looper through placing Spirit Charms and collecting demonic essence with the aim of helping Hope learn more about the island's magic; though later on, Jade appears to have gotten herself stuck in the Spirit Realm as a result of her own reckless curiosity. She can be found within a Dragon Portal, murmuring: "The shard...the shard..." After being questioned by The Looper following Kendo's suspicions, Daigo reveals that he had previously given Jade a mask intended to protect her after she'd gotten herself cursed by the demons—though it appears to have only worsened her situation, sufficiently amplifying her curse to allow her entrance into the Spirit Realm, but evidently not enough for her exit.
Both of Jade's brothers promptly task themselves with saving her, though neither agree on how to do so. Kendo works alongside his newfound allies, while Daigo, now seeing himself as having failed his sister, carries on alone and begins crafting a plan to single-handedly save her, heading to a lone Dragon Portal in the mountains after The Night Rose entrusts him with the Splinter Blades—the same weapons The Looper and the rest of the Demon Hunters had recently used to liberate her—believing they hold the power to free Jade as well. As Daigo begins Jade's rescue, the vague sight of her trapped within the Realm reappears in the portal before him.
The Confrontation Event[]

After enough preparation, Daigo unleashes his kintsugi magic on the the Spirit Realm portal to pull Jade back into the physical world. However, before he can succeed, Jade is violently dragged back into the Realm, and Shogun X emerges from the portal to fight him.
In the aftermath of the fight, Jade is finally freed and stands in her brother's former place, the portal behind her now imbued with glowing gold and encircled by streams of golden light. She immediately requests to see The Looper to discuss what comes next.[6]
Jade reveals that while the demons attempted to break her, they ultimately failed. However, she warns of a "Dark Presence" that has a plan and now possesses the Shard. Although she doubts that either of her brothers are strong enough to stop it, she is particularly concerned for Daigo due to his lack of limits. She also reveals that the Dark Presence seeks to claim everyone—especially Daigo—though she does not yet understand why.[7] While unsure of its meaning, she additionally warns The Looper of the golden energy emerging from the portal, advising that it will bring greed, conflict, and chaos.[8]
Chapter 6: Season 2[]
As criminal activity spikes across Oninoshima due to the island’s newfound gold supply, Jade further embraces her role as Guardian of the Sprites. Now relocated to Rolling Blossoms Farm, Jade remains powered in her Sprite guardian form rather than reverting to her usual state, discovering that her powers have grown to the point where she can speak to and feel the emotions of Sprites, and even sense the heartbeat of Oninoshima itself alongside her own.[9]
Jade tells The Looper that much to her earlier fears, in the time since The Confrontation Event, Daigo has become obsessed with the Dark Presence in the Spirit Realm, having heard its whispers during his preparation by the Dragon Portal.[10] Now convinced it is his duty to save Oninoshima as a whole and that he is the only one capable of doing so, Jade believes Daigo must be stopped before he is taken by the Dark Presence.[11]
Jade continues to support her allies and is willing to help with whatever is needed for their cause,[12] though she speaks of wanting to take a break from adventures for the moment.[13]
