- — In-Game Description
Keys are a World Resource in Fortnite: Battle Royale. They were introduced in Chapter 3: Season 4.
Functionality[]
Keys are used to open locks on Vaults. Vaults will have 1 or 2 locks on them, depending on the location and quality of loot inside. Rare Vaults take 1 key to open, and Epic Vaults take 2 keys to open. Keys are also used to unlock Key Locked Chests in the same way they unlock Vaults. The player can only carry 3 keys at a time.
Keys make a distinctive noise when on the floor.
