Guards[]
Latverian Guards, also known as Doom Henchmen were special Guards in Fortnite: Battle Royale. They were introduced in Chapter 5: Season 4.
Description[]
From when the feature was available before 1 hour after the season began:
Latverian Guards are initially neutral as they patrol around Kingdom of Doom controlled POIs. However when they are knocked, they can be Given A Second Chance and redeemed. The redeeming process takes 3.5 seconds to complete.
Once redeemed, they will join the redeemer's team and follow them until they get eliminated, their redeemer gets eliminated, or they get the Victory Royale. Players can have no more than 1 Latverian Guard redeemed at a time. Redeeming more will cause the previous Latverian Guard to wave and rift away, dropping their items.
Latverian Guards are distinguished by Class and Rank. This determines what weapons they hold and what roles they play.
- Tactical Grunts
- Latverian Tactical Grunts are Assault Weapon wielding Guards that can be found in Kingdom of Doom controlled POIs, Latverian Dig Sites and Forecast Towers. They will only shoot at the player if they either attack them, one of their Bosses, get near a Doom Chest at a Dig Site, block their path for too long, or they aim their weapon at them for too long. Additionally, they will rally towards a Kingdom of Doom Boss if they are under attack.
- Heavy Elites
- Latverian Heavy Elites are stronger, Shotgun wielding Latverian Guards that appear as Commanding Officers to the Tactical Grunts. As such, they always appear single among groups of guards and only in Latverian Dig Sites and Forecast Towers, posing as the leader of said Forecast Towers.
Either Latverian Guard, when redeemed, may also request a High Five or Hug from their redeemer. If ignored, the Latverian Guard will cancel the offer and turn away, feeling rejected.

Trivia[]
- Like the Wasteland Guards and Minions previously, the Latverian Guards use the same base model as the Legion Guards, donning metallic masks that bear resemblance to the one worn by Doom, and an additional pistol holster on their side.
- Much like the Legion Guards they also fill both roles of Guards and Bosses, now with the Forecast Tower captain just being a normal Guard in place of the commander in charge instead of being a Boss like the Commanders and Wasteland Tactical Elites.
- Though the Forecast Tower Latverian Heavy Elites aren't considered as Bosses unlike the Commanders and Wasteland Tactical Elites, they will still be eliminated instantly upon their health being drained. Being the only sub-variant of a Latverian Guard that couldn't be knocked before Update v31.30.
- The Latverian Tactical Grunts reuse the voicelines of the IO Guards in Chapter 2: Season 7 at a higher pitch while the Latverian Heavy Elites reuse the voicelines of the Wasteland Heavy Guards, but with a different voice filter applied, and reworked Idle lines.
- Like the Wasteland Guards and Legion Guards before, the Latverian Guards communicate to each other via Walkie Talkies in their Idle lines. However the communication is now separated into two sets of lines as Idle and Idle Radio Response, rather than having them be combined into fixed audios.
- Out of all the Legion Guard derivatives released, the Latverian Guards are the most prominent in their season's advertisements and artwork.
- Much like the Legion Guards they also fill both roles of Guards and Bosses, now with the Forecast Tower captain just being a normal Guard in place of the commander in charge instead of being a Boss like the Commanders and Wasteland Tactical Elites.
- The Latverian Guards are the first Legion Guard derivatives to not have a second alternate style or Heavy Grunt and Tactical Elite units. With their Epic TBD Outfits only having one style and clear ranks for both.
- They are also the first Legion Guard derivatives to have official renders and Outfit Icons. However the icons in-game only feature their head and collar.
- The Latverian Tactical Grunt's Outfit ID is Character_GleamAngel_Lodge_NPC.
- The Latverian Heavy Elite's Outfit ID is Character_GleamNyx_Lodge_NPC.
- The Latverian Guards are the first Guards since the Stark Robots to have the option of converting them to the player's side.
- The reason for this is shown in the Story Quests. Where it is revealed they are being remotely mind controlled to serve under Doom via a control chip implanted in their heads.
- Like Mysterio, the Latverian Guards have lines for attacking a bronze Doom Statue. However these go unused as they do not react the same way he did in-game before September 10th 2024 and remain neutral.
