- — In-Game Description
Launch Pad is an Epic Trap in Fortnite: Battle Royale, that was added in Season 1.
Functionality[]
The Launch Pad is a trap that is used to launch players upwards into the air and return them into a skydiving state, allowing for a Glider Redeploy. This will then end up negating fall damage.
The Launch Pad can only be placed on an owned or neutral floor tile, and will launch the player several tiles vertically, before allowing them to access their Glider.

Feel free to add tips, tricks and general advice about the topic. |
- If being pushed by The Storm, the Launch Pad is a great help in getting out of it, due to the glider redeploy.
- The Launch Pad can be used to acquire high ground over opponents or to easily flank them due to the high mobility.
- If W-Keying, launch pads may be extremely useful, as after you end one fight, you can easily jump in to another fight.
- If you need to evade a fight, a launch pad can make it harder for you to hit and can help you get away from opponents.
- This can be countered when the opponent builds a pyramid on top of the launch pad.
- You can reduce the launch height by placing a ramp over the Launch Pad, which is useful in mid to late games to avoid being shot at in the sky.

Trivia[]
- The Launch Pad was a pseudo-replacement for the Directional Jump Pad, as those two trap variants had allowed for increased mobility with the placement of a trap.
- When Building was disabled at the start of Chapter 3: Season 2, the Launch Pad could've been purchased from Mancake.
- It would be unusable however. Due to this, it was quickly vaulted and then made a return in the next update.
- If the player marks a Launch Pad after being placed, it is shown as Common.
