Limited-Time Events are events in Fortnite: Battle Royale, usually themed around a season or occasion, that last for a limited amount of time. They can last anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, and tend to come with Quests (formerly Challenges), new items and new themed cosmetics. The first event in Battle Royale was Fortnitemares 2017, in Season 1.

Season 5 introduced the first event to feature challenges, Fortnite 1st Birthday.

Season 1

Fortnitemares 2017

• Update v1.8: Fortnitemares 2017 begins, with the addition of the Item Shop, Pumpkin Launcher, and Slurp Juice
• November 29, 2017: Fortnitemares 2017 ends, and the Pumpkin Launcher is removed.

Survive the Holidays!

• Update v1.11: The Survive the Holidays! event begins, 1 day before the launch of Season 2. It brings with it the Snowball Launcher, a festive Battle Bus, and new holiday-themed cosmetics.

Season 2

• Update v2.2.0: The Survive the Holidays! event ends, and the Snowball Launcher is removed.

Valentine's Day 2018

• Update v2.42: Valentine's Day 2018 begins, adding Cupid's Crossbow and Valentine's-themed cosmetics.

Season 3

• Update v3.00: Valentine's Day 2018 ends, Cupid's Crossbow changed to have its default appearance, and the name is changed to "Crossbow".

Season 4

• Update v4.00: Vaulted the Crossbow.

Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup

• Update v4.10: The Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup begins, adding the Infinity Gauntlet limited-time mode.
• Update v4.20: The Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup ends, and the LTM is removed from playlists.

Season 5

Fortnite 1st Birthday

• Update v5.10: Fortnite's 1st Birthday event begins, adding free cosmetics as rewards for challenges and consumable Birthday Cake items.
• Update v5.20: Fortnite's 1st Birthday event ends, and with it the challenges and Birthday Cakes are removed.

Share the Love

  • May 13th, 2021: Wild Week #2, Fish Fiesta, begins. Fishing Holes now persist for longer, rare fish are more common, all fished weapons are Rare or above, and Pro Fishing Rods are more common.

  • May 19th, 2021: The Crossover begins, and the Fortnite x NBA Team Battles become available.
  • May 20th, 2021: Wild Week #3, Bouncing off the Walls, begins. Shockwave Grenades, Hop Floppers, and Mechanical Shockwave Bows are made more common, and the Bouncer is unvaulted.
  • May 23rd, 2021: The Fortnite x NBA Team Battles end.
  • May 25th, 2021: The Crossover themed Creative Hub and the Court Crashers LTM become available.
  • June 1st, 2021: The Crossover ends, the LTM and Creative Hub are removed.

  • May 20th, 2021: Wild Week #4, Bargain Bin, begins. Every Exotic item, and other miscellaneous services are 50% off. This Wild Week lasts until the end of the season.

Chapter 2: Season 7

Cosmic Summer Celebration

• Update v17.10
  • June 22, 2021: The Cosmic Summer Celebration begins, a concert stage appears at Believer Beach, and the Creative LTMs; Bios Zone Wars Trio 1.0 - Custom Teams, Pro 100, Freaky Flights - Air Royale, and The Pit - FFA are added for the duration of the event.
  • July 5, 2021: The Cosmic Summer Celebration ends, the concert stage and Creative LTMs are removed.

Wild Weeks

• Update v17.40
  • August 19th, 2021: Wild Week #1, Sneak Week, begins. The Epic+ Pistol, Epic+ Assault Rifle, and all Bolt-Action Sniper Rifles are replaced with their stealthy variants: Suppressed Pistols, Suppressed Assault Rifles, and Suppressed Sniper Rifles.
• Content Update v17.40
  • August 26th, 2021: Wild Week #2, High Flying Week, begins. The Rift-To-Go and Bouncer are unvaulted, and Launch Pads are made more common. NPC vendors will also sell Spawn rift services.
• Update v17.50
  • August 19th, 2021: Wild Week #3, High Tech Hijinks, begins. Alien and IO tech is made more common, and in addition, Abductors will only carry the Kymera Ray Gun, Grab-itron, Prop-ifier, and Alien Nanites. Likewise, IO Chests will only give the Pulse Rifle, Rail Gun, Plasma Cannon, and Inflate-A-Bull.
  • September 9th, 2021: Wild Week #4, Bargain Bin, begins. Every Exotic item, and other miscellaneous services are 50% off. This Wild Week lasts until the end of the season.

Chapter 2: Season 8

Fortnitemares: Wrath of the Cube Queen

• Content Update v18.10: Fortnitemares: Wrath of the Cube Queen begins, with the Dual Fiend Hunters Weapon being introduced.
• Update v18.21
  • October 19th, 2021: The second phase of Fortnitemares: Wrath of the Cube Queen begins. Caretakers are added, along with the Sideways Scythe. The Horde Rush LTM also returns. The Fortnitemares 2021 Quests, Horde Rush 2021 Quests, and Ghostbusters: Afterlife Quests become available.
  • October 25th 2021: Refer a Friend 2021 begins.
• Content Update v18.30 - 1: Fortnitemares: Wrath of the Cube Queen ends. Its quests, new weapons, and the Caretaker are removed. The Horde Rush LTM remains.
• Content Update v18.30 - 2: The Horde Rush LTM is removed.

The Nindo 2021

• Update v18.40
  • November 17th 2021: The Nindo 2021 begins. Wave 1 of the Naruto Set releases in the Item Shop. The Paper Bomb Kunai is added, alongside a Kakashi Hatake Character. The Nindo 2021 Challenges also release.
  • November 22nd 2021: The Nindo 2021 ends. The Kakashi Hatake Character, and challenges are removed. The Paper Bomb Kunai remains until the end of the season.

Wild Weeks

• Content Update v18.40
  • November 23rd, 2021: Wild Week #1, Strike from the Shadows, begins. Shadow Stones, Shadow Floppers and Paper Bomb Kunai have increased spawn rates. In addition to this, Shadow Floppers can be found as Floor Loot.
  • November 30th, 2021: Wild Week #2, Bargain Bin, begins. Every Exotic item, and other miscellaneous services are 50% off. This Wild Week lasts until the end of the season.

Reckless Railways and Brawler's Battleground are replaced by Freaky Fields and Brawler's Patch respectively. Both get new bosses. The River Styx and Dash Skulls turn red with Mephisto taking over The Underworld. Fortnitemares 2024 Quests start and Horde Rush returns. LEGO® Pass: Brick or Treat Begins.
  • November 1st 2024: Downtime for Update v32.00 begins and Fortnitemares ends, Taking the Witch Broom, Pumpkin Launcher, Wood Stake Shotgun, Boom Billy, and Chainsaw with it. As well as Freaky Fields and Brawler's Patch, both bosses, The River Styx and Underworld Dash. Horde Rush is vaulted. LEGO® Pass: Brick or Treat stays until its time period finished on December 10th 2024.
