Live at Risky Reels was an Live Event in Fortnite: Battle Royale that took place on December 14, 2019 at 2 PM ET but started at 2:10 PM ET after players experienced issues logging into the game.
During the event, attendees were able to watch an exclusive scene premiere of Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker and receive the TIE Whisper Glider after the event had concluded for free.
Live at Risky Reels was also the first Live Event of Chapter 2.
Buildup[]
After Update v11.21, Risky Reels was slowly being renovated for an upcoming event that would take place at the Landmark. With the cars parked in the theater being moved out for the construction and installation of gigantic silver platforms.
Later in Update v11.30, the big movie screen was replace with the largest platform in the venue. Which projected a countdown for the event and TIE Fighters orbiting around it.

Event Summary[]
The event begins with a platform rising from Risky Reels with the introduction of the Millenium Falcon, though just as the Millenium Falcon went to land First Order Star Destroyers entered the atmosphere and the Falcon was attacked by First Order TIE Fighters, causing a starship dogfight to occur across the Apollo island with the TIE Fighters crashing into different parts of the island. After the threat was taken care off the Millenium Falcon lands on the platform. Shortly after landing, Game Awards presenter Geoff Keighley appears on stage in the form of a hologram, and is then joined by an Imperial Stormtrooper designated as FN-143 (Silent 0) and Star Wars director J.J. Abrams as they exit the ship onto the stage with a large crate floating to the front.
Shortly after greeting the attendees they showcase the freedom of the virtual world with being able to change their appearance via J.J. switching to Ramirez, the First Order Stormtrooper, and the Outfit Geoff Keighley is using on stage, with Emotes and dance sessions in between. Later on discussing and describing what Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker is about and what to expect with the movie, then sharing an exclusive premier of a scene from the movie after a Server-wide poll where players can vote their predictions on "What is the scene about?", with the choices being Darth Jar Jar, Jedi Mind Trick, Knights Of Ren, and Rey & Kylo Power Ballad, to which Jedi Mind Trick won the poll.
With the preview of The Rise of Skywalker showcased and after another dance session with FN-143 and J.J. Abrams, the latter leaves the stage and re-enters the Millenium Falcon. But before Geoff Keighley closes the show he asks the attendees one more Server-wide question with "What is your favorite Lightsaber color?", with the following choices being Red, Purple, Green, and Blue. But before the winning answer could be displayed, another swarm of First Order TIE Fighters attack the stage, causing Geoff to abruptly shut off his hologram and screen projector, and leaving FN-143 to quickly retreat back into the Millenium Falcon before he could be spotted by the First Order. Leaving the mysterious crate behind.
The Millenium Falcon then takes off and flies out of the island by jumping into hyperspace, losing the sight of the TIE Fighters as they fly back into the First Order Star Destroyers. Suddenly, a mysterious broadcast spoken by the late Emperor Palpatine could be heard by all the attendees as the game is forced into slowmotion while he spoke, followed by the Star Destroyers also leaving the island through hyperspace.
Once all the First Order Star Destroyers left the mysterious crate activated and could be opened, with the first player to reach it being greeted with their character brandishing a Lightsaber of their chosen color. Then shortly after every player that joined the Live Event is also granted Lightsabers of their chosen colors as the event ends and combat is re-enabled, allowing them to experience wielding their newly obtained Lightsabers.
Trivia[]
- Emperor Palpatine's speech, as portrayed in this event, was referenced in the opening crawl to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019).
- Live at Risky Reels was the first Live Event to introduce the Focus feature. Which functioned similarly to aiming down with a weapon, allowing players to zoom onto key elements during an Event.
- FN-0143 was voiced by Ben Schwartz.
- Several TBD Emotes were created just for this event: Clap And Wave, Talking Gesture and Galileo Show Cheer. These Emotes were never released to players.
- Ironically, none of these Emotes were used by Geoff Keighley, FN-0143, or J.J. Abrams.
