The Lump of Coal is a Ranged Consumable in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It was added in Chapter 2: Season 1.
Functionality[]
Lump of Coal can be thrown, using a projectile arc, to deal a small amount of damage. It can be picked up after use, even if it hits an opponent. It can also be used to refuel Cozy Campfires.

From when the item was last available during Winterfest 2021: Lumps of Coal can be obtained by eliminating friendly Red-nosed Ranger NPCs as well as Sgt. Winter.

- Lumps of Coal should only be used as the absolute last resort, as they deal the same damage as a single hit with a Harvesting Tool.

- December 16th 2021: Unvaulted the Lump of Coal. It can now be obtained by eliminating friendly Red-nosed Ranger NPCs, as well as Sgt. Winter.

- The Lump of Coal being found in Presents is a reference to the idea that naughty children would receive coal in their stockings at Christmas time if they had been bad.
