The Makeshift Submachine Gun is a Submachine Gun in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It was introduced in Chapter 2: Season 6.
Functionality[]
This weapon is similar to the Tactical Submachine Gun. It is ideal for close range engagements, but begins to lack in damage at medium and longer ranges. It has a fast fire-rate meaning accuracy is less important with this weapon.
Stats[]
Makeshift Submachine Guns range from dealing 17 Damage per shot to 19 Damage per shot (153 - 171 damage per second). All Makeshift Submachine Guns use 
Light Bullets. The Makeshift Submachine Gun has a headshot multiplier of 1.75x.

The Makeshift Submachine Gun is a hitscan weapon. It does not have First Shot Accuracy enabled, and will always fire a random spread of bullets, which increases with continuous fire. This spread is decreased whilst crouching.

- The Makeshift Submachine Gun can be countered in many similar ways to the Tactical Submachine Gun.
- The Makeshift Submachine Gun has a fire rate that is high enough that its 25 round magazine can drain very fast, and reloads somewhat slowly. Take advantage of this by using a larger magazine weapon that can continue firing while an opponent using the Makeshift Submachine Gun tries to reload.

Chapter 2: Season 6[]
- Update v16.00: The Makeshift Submachine Gun is introduced in Common, Uncommon, and Rare. It is part of the new craftable weapons system.
- Update v16.10: Crafting adjustments altered based on rarity, formerly 4 resources across the board, now 2/4/6 depending on rarity.
- Update v16.20: Fire rate increased from 9 to 10.
- Update v16.30: Added all variants to Creative.
Chapter 2: Season 7[]
- Update v17.00: Vaulted the Makeshift Submachine Gun in all rarities.
Trivia[]
- The Makeshift Submachine Gun uses the same model as the Tactical Submachine Gun and the Scavenger Riptide from Save the World, but includes a different render for its icon.
- It also has very similar statistics to the Tactical Submachine Gun.
- Like the Tactical Submachine Gun, the Makeshift Submachine Gun appears to be based off of the American TEC-9, but heavily modified.
- The Rare Makeshift Submachine Gun has a slightly higher DPS than the Legendary Tactical Submachine Gun by 1.
