The Mesa Biome, usually known as the Desert Biome, is a biome in Fortnite: Battle Royale that was added in Season 5 in the southeast side of the map. It is a large desert.

History

Season 5

• A Rift summoned the Mesa Biome with a New Named Location, which is Paradise Palms, replacing Moisty Mire. Later The Cube was summoned on a Mountain in Mesa and later left.

Season 7

• An Expedition Camp was added.
• Sofdeez was added replacing Roadside Diner.
• Snow appeared temporarily for Christmas and the Ice Storm Event.
• An Earthquake struck next to Sofdeez.

Season 8

• A Pirate Camp appeared.
• The Expedition Outposts were removed.

Season 9

• The Pirate Camp was removed.
• A Sky Platform was added.

Season X

• A Cube Memorial appeared.
• The Sky Platform was removed.
• Pandora was added temporarily.
• Moisty Mire merged with Paradise Palms and became Moisty Palms.

Chapter 2: Season 1

• The Mesa was removed.

Chapter 3: Season 1

• The Mesa returned at the southern part of Artemis, partially covered with snow that is now melting to reveal the rest of the biome.
• Three New Named Locations can be found: Rocky Reels, Chonker's Speedway and Condo Canyon.
• Butter Barn has also returned from the Zero Point Desert to the Mesa Desert. Mancake can be found as a character and his Barn has been revamped and has now more buildings.

Chapter 3: Season 2

• The Seven built Synapse Station.

Chapter 3: Season 3

• The Butter Barn has transformed into Butter Bloom.
• A bit of the Mesa has transformed into the Reality Bloom Biome.
• Butter Bloom later transformed into Neo Butter Barn.

Chapter 3: Season 4

• The Butter Barn has been protected by No Sweat Insurance and is in the sky along with Cloudy Condos.
• Chrome has spread to the Mesa.
• Neo Butter Barn has transformed into Flutter Barn and is now a Named Location.
• In the Fracture Live Event, The Mesa biome was destroyed by The Herald and put back together.

Chapter 5: Season 3

• The Mesa Biome has returned.
• Primo Pumps is now part of the Mesa Biome.

Chapter 2 Remix

• The Mesa Biome has been removed.

Trivia

• The Sand Biome or the Zero Point Desert Biome added in Chapter 2: Season 5 is similar to the Mesa Biome but with pure Zero Point matter sand.
• The Nitro Wasteland Biome added in Chapter 5: Season 3 is extremely similar to the Chapter 3 desert biome, having similar geographical features and vegetation around the middle and being located in the same area of the map.
• Despite appearing in Fracture, it never showed up on the Chapter 4 Island.
