- — In-Game Description
Midas' Drum Gun (OG) is an Assault Weapon in Fortnite: Battle Royale, that was added in Chapter 2: Season 2.
Midas' Drum Gun (OG) is a Mythic version of the Drum Gun.
Functionality[]
Midas' Drum Gun (OG) is a fully automatic, fast firing, closer ranged weapon. It is best used like an SMG, dealing high amounts of damage in a close quarters environment, but being much weaker at extended ranges due to poor accuracy. As it stands, Midas' Drum Gun (OG) plays closer to a Submachine Gun than an Assault Weapon, similar to the Light Machine Gun.
Stats[]
Midas' Drum Gun (OG) uses Medium Bullets and has a headshot multiplier of 1.5x.
Midas' Drum Gun (OG) is a hitscan weapon. It does not have First Shot Accuracy Enabled.
Obtained[]
Midas' Drum Gun (OG) could have been obtained by eliminating Midas at The Agency.
Midas' Drum Gun (OG) can be obtained by either eliminating Revenant Kado Thorne at Eclipsed Estate inside Inner Sanctum, getting in Sanguine Suites or Relentless Retreat's vaults and stealing it from the collection display, or from the "Mythic Grab Bag" Reality Augment.
Strategy[]
- Midas' Drum Gun (OG) is essentially an SMG in all but name, so it should be used accordingly.
- Pairing Midas' Drum Gun (OG) with a high-damage, slow-firing shotgun, such as the Infiltrator Pump Shotgun or Sharp Tooth Shotgun, is an excellent combo. Fire your shotgun shot, then quickly switch to the Drum Gun to finish the opponent off.
- The very high DPS of Midas' Drum Gun (OG) paired with its high capacity makes it a great choice for destroying opponents' build pieces at close range.
- If the opponent is hiding behind a wall, you can destroy it with Midas' Drum Gun (OG) and replace it with your own wall, then edit the wall to get off a strong shotgun shot or spray at the opponent further with Midas' Drum Gun (OG).
Weapon ID[]
Midas' Drum Gun (OG) is referred to as Midas Drum Gun in the files.
- Mythic: WID_Boss_MidasDrumGun

Trivia[]
- Like its original counterpart, Midas' Drum Gun (OG) is modeled after the American M1928 Thompson Submachine Gun. The model often associated with American Depression-era Mobsters, and not the Submachine Gun used in World War II.
- The fact that Midas is a Crime Boss and uses a Drum Gun is likely a nod to the Mobster association the weapon possesses.
- During Chapter 2: Season 2, Midas' Drum Gun (OG) would always appear in-game as a gold plated Drum Gun due to Midas' passive effect of converting held weapons to gold. Furthermore, before Update v26.00 was released, it used the regular Drum Gun icon, and many renders of the gun used by unofficial sources showed the weapon as gold covered like it does currently.
- In Chapter 2: Season 2, Midas' Drum Gun (OG) functioned very similar to the pre-nerf Drum Gun, with it dealing incredible DPS and it requiring a nerf when being reintroduced albeit at a faster fire rate.
- As of Update v26.00, Midas' Drum Gun (OG) shares the same stats as the other two Mythic Drum Guns: Jules' Drum Gun and Shadow Midas' Drum Gun.
- Midas’ Drum Gun (OG) and Jules' Drum Gun have a history of bugs involving each other. These include Incorrect Models, Elimination Feeds, and Names. These likely stem from the fact that Midas’ Drum Gun was converted into Jules’ in the files for Chapter 2: Season 3, requiring it to be fully remade for later appearances.
- Midas' Drum Gun (OG) is the first Boss associated Mythic Weapon to be used by two different Bosses during its lifetime, being Revenant Kado Thorne and Midas himself.
- Midas' Drum Gun (OG) was remade with a mod-compatible version in Chapter 5: Season 2.
- This makes Midas' Drum Gun the first Mythic Boss Weapon to have two versions of itself.
