Midas Presents: The Floor is Lava is a Limited Time Mode in Fortnite. It was added to the files in Update v28.00 and released in Update v29.01.
LTM Rules and Gameplay[]
In this LTM, every weapon available is exclusively found in Legendary. Much like the original, lava will erupt from volcanoes in the distance and begin to rise 5 minutes into the match, which gives players a limited amount of time to gather loot and materials. The lava is molten gold and will keep moving throughout the match at a steady speed until the entirety of the island is covered. Touching the lava will deal 20 damage to your health.
Players can build on the lava and gain materials automatically over time, as building is the only method of escaping the lava. Generating 1 Wood every 1 second, 1 Stone every 2 seconds, and 1 Metal after every 3 seconds.

- In this LTM, you will have to focus on loot straight away, and gather materials as well if you have time. When the lava rises, it is ideal to start building at a high level of terrain. Make sure that you have reliable team mates.
- It's recommended that you get as many materials as possible, due to the lava flooding every ground area in mid game. Recommended to conserve your materials as much as possible, as although every second you get materials, it can still be not enough.
- Make sure that your structures can't be easily shot out, connecting to other builds can help with this issue.
- Landing at Locations that are in elevated terrain such as Grand Glacier or Mount Olympus are especially advantageous to land at. As they don't get consumed by lava quickly.
- Healing Items are vital to have on your team, as you need to collect as many as possible, due to the fact that they will become unobtainable in mid to late game, unless you got lucky with a Supply Drop.

Trivia[]
- Midas Presents: The Floor is Lava LTM is a remake of Floor Is Lava from Season 8.
- However, unlike it's Season 8 counterpart, this LTM adds the word "The" before "Floor is Lava". The reason why is unknown as it's referred to as Midas Presents: Floor is Lava in the Midas Presents: Floor is Lava Quests.
- There is an unused mechanic where player can get covered in molten golden after touching the lava. The player will also be granted with Pepper Effect effects for a certain duration.[1]
- Touching the Molten Gold Lava will turn every applicable item in the player's inventory gold, much like Midas' Golden Touch Reactivity.
- This also applies to the player's Blueprints and currently equipped Pickaxe.
